Just an update on the GBed piece of cladding John and I are working on. RR has been applied over the GB for about 2 weeks now and showing no signs of rejection or any other problems. Been sitting outside to be weathered so its looking good. Lets give it a while longer before we call this a success but so far it is looking great!

I used the GB Spray Can to coat my aftermarket fender wells cladding pieces.  The GB made the color match better.  I then coated the GB painted fender pieces with RR.  Been about three weeks, no issues.  Been through sun and rain.

to those that have done it I most likely have wax on mine and not 100% sure what this Alcohol is. I have never heard of it .
So where do you get it and you just wipe the cladded parts with it ? Wash entire truck with Dawn ? I want to get mine done now but am a bit worried about doing it. I bought a can of the refinish restore some time back. Living in the Southern Desert was afraid it would dry before I got it rubbed on.  Big laughter with tears Big laughter with tears Now it is cooling to the low 90"s so am ready to give it a go but want to know what I am doing first

You can get denatured alcohol at any hardware store, or home depot/lowes etc.

Wash with the Dawn first.

These steps are not necessary, but make for a better adhesion.  As I always say "The Prep Work Is Everything & Makes All The Difference"

Thank you all for the great comments and before/after pics.  After reading this thread and noticing a few zebra-like markings on my cladding I decided to order a can of RR.  Wish I would've done it a week earlier so it can arrive before my wife and I hit the coast but oh well.  I'll post before and after pics once it arrives.

I've said it before and I'll continue saying it... this site rocks!

CarSystem (the company that makes Refinish Restorer) says it is for EXTERNAL use only, and not to use it on the interior parts.

Cleaning the cladding is the most important step.

I'm pretty sure everyone uses dish soap and a stiff brush to clean the cladding.

Some prefer to use denatured alcohol (you can get at hardware stores) after cleaning the cladding with dish soap.

Next step after cleaning, is make sure the cladding is completlely dry before you apply RR.

Remember alittle tab will do a whole lot, so you don't need much on your applicator.

If you apply a second coat, make sure its compleley dry first. (touch and make sure its not tacky feeling)

Oh most use a cheap wax applicators to apply RR.

Most people use  2-3 coats.
Some are known to use more, personal choice on this one.

Last step, take pics and show us the results.

Well after 8 mos I think its time to reapply to my Av. I have to say that I am amazed at hom much abuse this stuff can take and how long it lasts. Only thing that make me start is the front of my truck got bumped and a little dirt ground into the plastic and broke a fog light. I applied a little of the liquid magic and all the bad things disappeared but showed that the rest of the truck needs it done over.

Mine has a very faint look of micro flaking but only in certain areas.

I'm sure this is because of all the product testing I did.

Some of the testing I did was as follows:

I blasted it off in spots with a commercial pressure washer to see how durable it is.

Applied it outdoors on a very humid and in a misty rainy day

I removed it with Denatured Alcohol and reapplied it.

I waxed the cladding, and then applied RR on top of the wax.

So I'm not too surprised, but all in all I still get compliments on how good it looks.

I'm going to slap on a coat before the Winter to see how it holds up.

Then in the Spring I'm going to strip it and reapply it properly for longevity & durability.

This will be the final test.  It will be to see how long it lasts when applied correctly/properly with all settings being optimal. (surface prep, outside temp & humidity, etc).

My pictures of the Av were on par with everyone elses.  I did notice the sail panels came out slightly better than the bed panels.  I didn't do the sides or bumpers because mine aren't that bad (yet).  Although, I did do that little cover over the spare tire keyhole because for some reason it was really bad.

I also did my Jeep Wrangler.  It did a VERY good job on the bumper end caps, the front facia, and the fog light covers (and those little panels at the front corner of the full doors).  It also did a great job on the factory running boards.  The fender flares though, came out much better than they were before, but even after 3 coats, they are still a bit streaky.  They were really bad though (very pourous and white looking).  Could have been because I did them at a crappy time of year with the temperatures at night...

It is true to an extent. After it is discolored it will always be there but when you use the RR you will not see it until it is time to reapply. For that to happen on mine it took about 8 mos. I did do some testing with RR over Gatorback and it works great but I think you are much better just applying without. About 2 weeks ago I did a dumb thing and bumped my truck into a stationary object breaking a fog light and scuffing the cladding in for front. It had some white scuff marks and all I did was wash it and then apply the RR and you can barely see it. You have to look specifically for it.
