Bought some a couple of months back. Waiting for good weather/Spring to try it out. Mine's an '08 without much issue yet....just some zebra striping on the left sail panel most noticeable at this point.

I think the RR product cost to much for what it is. I use Meguiars Exterior Trim Coating. It last for about a month before I have to apply it again. But it's quick and easy to use.

You can get that at any place. Autozone, Pepboys where ever.

I just but the R&R on my truck and it looks the same to me, I just want to see how long it holds up. If it last a year I'll be happy. The Meguiars stuff is good but doesn't last a long time.

Have to thank you guys for the information on Refinish Restorer. My EXT tonneau cover was faded and spotted. I tried Meguiars products but it only lasted a few weeks. RR is great. Still waiting to see how long it lasts. Has been a week and still looks new.

I am still learning to post pictures, but may not have enough posts. If I am successful, here they are:

I bought the RR several weeks back but have been fighting with pollen and haven't had a chance to put it on.  Since it's been several days of rain I figured the pollen my have settled enough for me to put it on so Saturday after I washed it I put a coat on. I knew it would be a few showers Sunday morning so I figured this would give me a chance to see how it holds up after the rain. I am happy with the results. These pictures are only after one day but the products I've used in the past would run down the sides after a rain.  The RR isn't.

Figure 6 months if you live in an area with 4 seasons.

Possibly longer if you don't.

I've had RR on my cladding for roughly 8 months now... still looks really good and I only did one coat! For those of you doing two I'm sure you'll get some real life out of it. I  love this stuff!

WoW, that's terrific results, and you live here in the Northeast where we have some brutal snowstorms.

Thanks for the update ca2kjet.

I am in now over one year since I did the sail panels and bed panels, and it still looks brand new.  Absolutely amazing.

Not sure if I mentioned this, but if you find down the road (like I did) you accidently got some on a taillight or on the paint, it comes off with gasoline.

I reccomend it 100%.   My Jeep Wrangler fender flares still look brand new too (and they were almost white when I did them.)

Very easy and fool proof to apply (I used a couple old socks).  Just make sure there will be no rain or dew while it dries.

Do it, do it, do it, do it.  I can't believe this is not the official GM fix for this.

Also, make sure there are no smokers flicking their ashes, or no wind.  I picked up some "debris" on my first coat before the bed covers had dried completely.  They look 110% with the second coat on.  Now I just have to to the upper half of the truck and of course take pictures  Thumbs up!

Had a nice day today so I detailed the truck, R/R all of my upper cladding, and I had a couple of leaks, so I redid all of the seals on the panels.  this is some great stuff

Ordered this stuff and did two coats - looks amazing! I've also done my mother-in-law's Xterra and my parent's Liberty, both of which practically look brand new now. All of this and I haven't even used half of the can.

Not sure if it has already been mentioned here yet, but for those of you who have a GM "Avalanche" branded bug deflector and it looks like crap, wash it and use RR on it. Mine looks phenomenal! No streaks or anything, one coat and it's as glossy as glass.

I ordered mine this morning, I figure by the time it gets here it may stop raining. If not I'll have it onhand for when I'm back down in Colorado, Arizona or Texas.... or another one of those non-rain states.  Wink

Hey I found another link for the stuff but didn't feel like ordering from overseas... it was cheaper but no telling what s/h would have been.

It's the 17th item down that list if someone is braver than me and wishes to order through them. If it turns out to be reliable maybe we can get a case or two through them and make it available for the club members for a better price.

DONE! DID IT!  It was getting dark last night, so I waited till this AM to get the pics up. Smiley

Yes, the RR did everything as promised, looks great...and very true, a full can will do a truck multiple times over. I may have used 1/6 maybe to do my WBH.

I did doubt what a few people said about doing three coats. Well, its true, I think the best approach to get an even smooth finish you would want to use two or more so to cover up the streaking of the RR.  After the 3rd coat you have a nice smooth even finish.   My sail panels were not all that bad, but were striped about like heine12oz's, the fenders were faded slightly, but not "whiting", and my panels were definatly faded...Ill try to find some old pics, dont know how many I have that would show the fading, because I kept it up with Mothers, yes a pain in the ass, but I just couldnt handle the faded look.

Some pointers for future RR users, and Im cuerious of anyone else agrees, but these are a few things I learned and will do the next time I apply it.:

I did wear gloves, as recommended earlier. I agree whole heartedly with this as Im not sure how bad it is for your skin, but it gets STICKY/TACKY!
Next time I will use a lint free rag to use it...I thought I had a leftover microfiber towel, but I must have used it for something, so I use an old terry cloth rag...because RR gets a bit sticky, you tend to notice bits of the lint from the rag...I dont think this will affect it long term, and not noticeable to normal eye, but next time Ill use a microfiber or lint free rag...(Note: You can get them at the Dollar Tree stores)

Applying it, I notice after the first two coats, I was applying it with a back and forth motion (not circular)..maybe it was my eyes, but I saw streaks, well maybe not streaks, but different shades, dont get me wrong it still looked great, but the 3rd coat I applied I did in a circular motion all over, and it smoothed and evened everything.

I did apply it in the shade, but it was under a tree, and noticed a bit of pollen and bugs sticking to it.  ITS STICKY for about a 1/2 hour or so after you apply it.  Keep it in a garage or open shaeded area while you are applying it.

Do I think its worth it?  Damn straight.   Thumbs up!

Hope this helps those of you thinking about doing it, and those of you who have, I'd like to hear your thoughts about or techniques about applying it.

I must put it on heavier than everybody else, it took each coat well over 2 or 3 hours to get past that tacky stage. We have a lot of cottonwood trees around here so there were little fuzzy floaty things stuck to the first coat. Don't mess with it until it's totally dried and they wipe right off. All in all it looks better but my sails aren't as black as the saddlebags and covers. I think I'm going to try a dye on the sails when this wears off. I'm also seriously considering painting it all and making an Escalanche and not have to keep messing with it.
