Ok gang.

Lets get a shout out for the 2nd annual MBF car show. The city would like to shoot for January 2009 so the weather will be much more favorable.

They want to know what our commitment is for the ongoing shows. I know we have a positive feedback and many have said they want to do it again.

So who is in?

I believe so. The club has a couple of award sheilds for it as well. I have them at the house will bring them to the next big monthly club meeting. Or the one that looks like the most people will be there.

Cindy, The thank you letters have indeed been sent out and just an FYI we are looking at Countryside Park in Mesa as the location for the new dog park! Of course, at this time it is not written in stone that this will be the site of the new park but at least we are making progress on securing a location. More to come... Mike

Countryside Park (or Countryside "bark")  Big laughter with tears
1120 South 32nd Street
Mesa, AZ, 85204

North off Southern at 32nd Street, which is between Lindsay and Val Vista.
Very close to where I live, for reference.

Basically, freeway travelers from the west could get off the US60 at the Gilbert Road exit, go north one-half
mile to Southern, turn right and it's not far to 32nd Street. About a mile and a half east of Gilbert Road.

Ok I will update the first post with the volunteers. We are looking for someone on the east side who can be our eyes and ears and voice at the meetings as they progress along. I think they are usually on wednesdays in the earliesh to later part of the afternoon. Green can you post the normal meeting hours for the city?

Concerning the meeting times for the foundation. The meetings are on the 3rd Wed. of the month at 4:30pm at the Mesa Parks Dept. Office : 200 S. Center St. Mesa. I would expect the activity for the car show will start to ramp up in the near future so hopefully an AV Club committee can be in place pretty soon. I would expect a lot of the contacts for sponsorships, trophies, tee shirts, event shirts, band, printing needs etc will be carry over from the last show, so the work load should be quite a bit less. The folks at the foundation will be handling the dog activities for the event ( we anticipate a much larger dog event based on the groups that have volunteered to participate ) and so the car show will be primarily handled by the club. More to come...
