Has anyone hooked up a dvd player (one of the rear head rest) to the front Navigation unit? The front player does not have a dvd, just the touch screen navigation. If so can you point me in the direction of some good instructions on how to connect it.
Thanks for any help.

PacAudio makes the adapters for this. I can't find the threads right now but there are many.

I looked at this company http://www.coastaletech.com/GMX320.htm and it looks like what I want. But after sending them 3 e-mails with a simple question and no listed phone number for them, kind of shows me what kind of crappy company they are. Hell if you cant even get a reply to an e-mail for someone who wants to buy, you know the customer support will even worse.

And Teksevy,
I already have the back up cam in my ava, I am just looking for the converter to play dvd's up front. Kind of looking for a plug and play as well, not looking to crack open the navigation system.

Here's their number.....800-507-2234. Ask for Dave or Kelley. They are terrible about returning emails and phone calls. So far, I haven't had to rely on "Customer Support". Modified....."haven't" replaced "have"...ooops! totally different meaning.

I sell costal etech as well. And as a dealer, even I have problems reaching them. Which module are you interested in? I have both the 322 and the Gen5. I'll be putting on my website shortly.

I am not sure which one exactly or if it will even work. I have a 2007 Ava LTZ with the toutch screen navigation up front and no dvd play drive inthe front (just plays cds). All I want to do is have the 2 GM tv's/dvd players that are installed inthe head rest, play up front. So I guess I need something to plug an rca from the back up to the front navigation screen. Do you know will mine play moves like this? Is it possable to do what I am looking to do? If so what kit do I need?
Thanks for any help.

Ok I have a 08 LTZ..just saw that the front will not play dvd's...why not? Is the unit different than the one that comes with the rear nav?
If it is, what adapter makes it play? I want to add either rear tvs in the headrest or an overhead unit that works with the stock unit up front

I believe the front will play DVDs while in park only. I'm not quite sure what you are referring to as a Rear Nav

You are correct MS03....that is, unless you have a LockPic to allow the DVD to play while in Drive (moving). One of these days, I'm going to install mine that I bought 6 months ago. I've been waiting to get 2 more cameras (one up front and one near the center, 3rd brake light) so I can see all those little boogers I run over and watch my trailer from a higher angle. Just too little time, and too much to do. Damn....work gets in the way of having fun!

this is true for Avi's with the center flip down screen. I have the dual head rest dvd/tv's and my navi unit willNOT play dvds up front. Movementof the vehicle has nothing to do with it.

I have seen some of them, if the Headunit does not have that DVD emblem it won't play DVD period. I thought they were just 07s

Is that a direct swap of units? Yeah I meant rear dvd not rear nav..... I would like to get my av close to stock with the dvd up front (in park) and being able to control it in the rear...what are the part numbers for the GM headrest nav units? Do these work well? How much $

Yes it's a direct swap of the headUnits, I not sure of the price on the headrest monitor, maybe someone will chime in and help ya on that.

what are these running on ebay? i saw some that ranged from 1500 plus to some that appeared to be 300 or so...any difference? Also in my old silverado I knew how to pop open the dash to get to my radio, how do you do that on the new av's? Does the wood trim around the nav pop out as well? Is it easy? Yes it's a direct swap of the headUnits, I not sure of the price on the headrest monitor, maybe someone will chime in and help ya on that.

I've popped out the trim on a 07 but I expect it's very easy and just pops out. As far as prices go I'm not sure you'll have to do your homework on that.
There is a member Machomachodan here that sells them, you may want to PM him he may even trade them for you.

Great..can you private message on this forum? Doesnt look like macho dan has logged in for a while and doesnt have an email list?
As for popping off the 07 dash, is the wood just held on by clips? how did you pop it off? small screwdriver, fingernail?

Look here link He chimes in every once in a while. As far as the trim goes I would use a small screwdriver and see where the clips are at.

To pop out the wood (looking) trim, insert a flat screw driver around the outside edge of the panel starting at the top of each side while working your way to the bottom. I believe there are either 4 or 6 stud clips (2 or 3 on each side) that hold it in. Also, I would let it warm up in your garage or with the heater before attempting to avoid breaking the panel or the studs that hold the clips.

You're screwed unless you have the code. Need to find the original owner. Or, check the owner's manual to see if the original owner jotted down the code.
