America's Best Value Inn Portage, IN has been deleted from the first post.
I also have a couple of ideas for a breakfast location the next morning for those that are staying over.

I'm going to see if the Manager from America's Best Value Inn will let me a take a couple of pics of the rooms, since that seems to be the one that our members want to stay at.

Another idea for an activity is the 49er drive in. I don't know if it is still open this late in the year but if it is the admission is only 7.00 per adult for 2 first-run films.

Just a thought.

Don't hate me, I got a new truck.........

We were thinking of this also, but like you said...don't know if they'll be open.  Also, the crap weather we get around here in the fall, I'll be surprised if it's NOT cold and rainy.

IT was our intention to have pics of the hotel room posted by now, however due to the flooding in the area it was impossible to get to the Bass Pro area from where we live.  The Borman Expressway was finally opened last night.  The hotel is right off the expressway, other roads to the area were also closed.  We were also busy for two days volunteering to help sandbag the town (in between working two jobs).
Traffic in the area is backed up due to all of the road closures and people are in a hurry trying to get around.  Yesterday LadyFX was running an errand for Scouting in Lansing, IL.  She was stopped at a red light when a Chevy Astro van ran into the back of the AV.  She was sore from her neck and shoulder, so they took her to the hospital to have her checked out.  She's OK, but sore.  The AV doesn't look to bad, I'm just concerned about mechanical and undercarriage damage.  We're taking it to the dealer today to start the estimate process.
So we are a little behind.  We'll update the America's Best Value Inn info as soon as we are able to, LadyFX will be resting up this weekend.

Thats a DIY project if your so inclined,  1.45 hours labor, easy stuff!  I doubt that there is any frame damage, but its good to have it looked at.

LadyFX said she kept her foot on the brake the whole time, the wheels were locked and the AV skidded forward 2-3 feet, I'm a little concerned about the transmission.  I drove it afterward, the brakes feel a little "mushy" and the alignment is off.  The other driver has insurance, so no need to DIY when the dealer will be paid to do it.

With this added information then, I'd say that the AV and its superior strength did its job!  From first glance at the damage it looks like a bumper tap! Maybe three miles an hour, but if it skidded 2 to 3 feet much more
