"The next Arizona Avalanche get together is planned for Sunday June 22"

A 50-mile Drive Through Ruby and Arivaca Skirts Two LAKES, WOODS and GRASSLANDS.

The 50 Mile drive begins approx 10 miles north of Nogales on I-19. Takeing the AZ-289/RUBY RD exit #12. Following RUBY RD past Pena blanca Lake, Castle Rock, Thumb Butte and Ruby into Arivaca. Leaving Arivaca on the Arivaca RD to Arivaca Junction at I-19. Then back to Tucson and all points beyond.

The Phoenix area members will meet near Interstate 10 and Baseline Road (Fry's Electronics Parking Lot). The distance from Fry's Electronic parking lot on Baseline Rd to exit 12 on I-19 is approx 160 miles. The 50 mile portion is easy to moderate traveling. This cruise will take approx 8-12 hours from meeting point at Fry's in Phoenix and back.

We will need to Identify other meeting spots for those hooking up from other places. I am thinking someplace along I-10 in Tucson or any other place along the route. (any suggestions?)

Picnic lunches, talkies, and all other cruise gear is recommended.
Your comments and suggestions are encouraged. (don't be shy)[/i]
Post them here or Email me at azblueav@cox.net

Going Green:   9:00 a.m. (cruise starts)

Test run: June 1st (look for stopping points, check mileage and set a time line)

Sorry all I will not be able to attend, the bizillion dollars this upcoming kid is already costing me is cramping my AVtime.  I have already had to put all my mod's on hold due to the baby furniture, and the other "stuff" you need for these things is unreal.  I am truely in the wrong business, I should have gone into making and selling baby "stuff", I would be a zillionair by now.  -----You all know I will melt like a puddle when the baby comes along ----

But for now I am stuck preping and pampering the wife for our new born due in August.  Putting the baby crib together today, and will read the directions when all else fails.

Send back pictures.

Thanks

June 22, 03 Cruise Update;

We traveled the route driving the Speed Limit or up +5 to 10 over and came up with this timeline.

Meet at Frys Electronics; 8:00am
Leave Frys Electronics; promptly @ 9:00am

Travel 104 miles south on I-10 thru Tucson. Take I-19 exit South toward Nogales traveling 34 miles to Exit #48 - Arivaca Junction. Arrive at approx 11:00am.
(Turn right at the stop sign. Turn right again at the next stop sign and meet at the Longhorn Grill for a 15-30 minute layover. We will connect with the Tucson Avs and those from other locations here.)

Travel 23 miles arrive at Arivaca approx 12:00pm
(15-minute beverage & bathroom stop)

Travel 12 miles arrive at Ruby approx 1:15pm
(Enjoy a picnic lunch when we arrive then check out the sites - total time up to 2 hours. Closed toe shoes are suggested for the walk about in Ruby. There is an $8-$12 tour fee. Alternative plans are to picnic at Arivaca, Pena Blanca Lake or any of the other picnic gazebos along the route if we decide not to take the Ruby tour. We are open to either choice and invite suggestions.) Here is a link to Ruby Arizona's Website.

Travel 30 miles arrive at Ruby Rd & I-19; approx 4:30pm
(Gas was $1.39 a gal at the Pilot Station on 06/01/03 – gas, beverage & bathroom stop)

Travel 20 miles North on I-19, arrive at the Longhorn Grill; 5:00 – 6:30pm (dinner reservations are made.) A link to the Longhorn Grill Website.

Arrive back at Frys Electronic in Phoenix approx; 8:45pm (367 miles, Used 23 gal.)

We are looking forward to seeing everyone that can make it.

Peace,
Todd

Hi everyone!

We are getting ready for the June 22 cruise and I am wondering who all is going to be there. If you plan on attending or know someone that is. Let us know by either posting a reply here or sending me an email to azblueav@cox.net

If we get 8 or more Avs to show up we will beat our 1st cruise. We had 7 show up for the meet & greet and 6 were able to take the cruise. I am looking forward to seeing those that participated last time again and anxious to meet any new members that can attend.

Got Questions? Just Ask...

Peace!
Todd

Got your email, and thanks for the invite. Sorry, but I can not make this one. Just a little to far for one day. I promise though, I will attend the first multi-day weekend cruise you plan. As long as it is below 120 degrees out.

I may be able to make a one day event in the future, if it matches with a business trip to my Scottsdale office.

Thanks again for the invite. Keep me in mind in the future. If you have a camping cruise of some kind in the fall or winter, I bet I can get CAHIKR to come also.

Check out the Western Regional threads. We would like to get some AZ members to come. Not to far for you, and we guarantee a lot of fun.

The wife and I just welcomed our new baby boy on Wednesday (June 11).

Cody was born at 14:22. coming in at 9 lbs. 10 oz and 21 in.

Mom and he are doing great, but not yet ready to travel for extended periods or have Dad and big sister out for an entire day.

Hopefully in a few months we will be able to take in some more cruises.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

Congratulations to you and the family.

You have got to share with me any secrets you learn with this one, as I will be doing this in less than 60 days.  How is the sleep coming?Huh

Look forward to seeing the family again and the new addition.  Maybe a short GTG is in order to induct the new member....

Congrats

Back in May the Wife and I returned from a cross country trip to Michigan and back.  On the way back we took a detour through Colorado and this picture was to good to pass up.  Hope to post more pics on www.azav.net soon.

woodman,
What time you gonna try to be there? I usually get up there on saturdays. Best place in town for an AvBath. I can make it just about anytime. My saturdays are pretty open.
Peace!
