Today in the mail, I got a flyer from GM.  It included 0% or cash back on various Chevy and GMC trucks. It also said I have $2700 in GM Card earnings.

Wondering about prices - and knowing the eBay GM site was up so I can look without having to go through a dealer, I went to gm.ebay.com

I got a notice that the program had ended on Sept. 30.

Huh

I thought it was extremely good. Why'd they kill it??

GM, eBay End Online Sales Effort

"General Motors Co. is ending a seven-week experiment to sell new cars in California with eBay Inc."

It was only an experiment, not the best time to try while they are eliminating dealerships/jobs,...

they did not make money...
People were low balling bids... Like $10 for a vette...

Did not work well.. so they canceled...

Ahh, too bad.

I kind of liked the idea.  Anything to get rid of the dealers.   Beating

A good idea at the wrong time with the wrong partner.

 eBay Motors doesn't lend confidence,

.... almost sounds like a close-out sale with the recent GM bankruptcy proceedings.

Valid point!

Amazon -  in retrospect - would have been a better portal.
