Its time for the Arizona Avalanches to run support for this worthy cause again.
Thanks for the great suuport as usual. Arizona Avalanches Rock!
This is the kind of people that run Ft. McDowell Casino;
"I am sorry to announce, Due to no information given to the Director of Marketing, Assisitant Dorector of Marketing, Security, TGO and Surveillance, FMC will not be able to participate in the Huntingtons Disease Poker Run will not take place this weekend."
This is a direct quote that I received this morning. Nothing like backing out at the last minute. We will now finish up at Hacienda. They were gracious enough to invite us to end the run at their facility. Thanks to Andreanne and Julie for the support.
Saturday May 16, 2009
All proceeds will benefit the
“Huntington’s Disease Society of America – Arizona Affiliate”
You are invited to join us for a day ride to beautiful Roosevelt Lake. Riders will depart from Hacienda Harley Davidson, 15600 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, Az.
The route has been finalized.
Stop 1 - Hacienda Harley Davidson 15600 N. Hayden, Scottsdale, Az.
Stop 2 - Ba'Ja Conoco Station Beeline highway and Ft. McDowell Rd.
Stop 3 - Rest Area SR 87(Beeline) and SR 188
Stop 4 - PERA Roosevelt
Stop 5 - Hacienda Harley Davidson 15600 N. Hayden, Scottsdale, Az.
Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. First riders leave Hacienda Harley at 10:00. I would like for all the Avalanches involved to be at
Hacienda Harley Davidson, 15600 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale
at 8:00 to pick up signs and have time to beat the bikes to the card stops. If anyone is unable to show up that early, let me know and I will get the signs and stuff to you before the 16th.
New link for sponsoring a rider on this great run. Even if you can't go on the ride, you can make a contribution to the cause.
Sponsorship link;
Online registration :
http://www.firstgiving.com/Power2CureHD
The avalanches staffing
Stop 1 = Hacienda Harley Davidson 9:00 Everybody
Stop 2 = GTO - Martin
Stop 3 = amd1900mp - Todd - Rest Stop SR 87/188
Stop 4 = AZ 03 AV - Nigel - PERA Roosevelt
Stop 5 = Starchaser - Hacienda Harley Davidson
Sag Wagon = Ghostwheel and Spoiled
Gargoyleman
Itsstopher (maybe)
We would like to have at least 5 trucks for support roles again this year.(More is better). We are hoping to see 200-300 riders this year. It would be cool to have a couple of Av's at each stop.
If you know anyone that would like to volunteer for helping out at any of the card stops please invite them along.
Please post if you are interested.

We are unable to ride the mc this year because we lost the spyder this month. Unfortunately with the economy the way it is, we could not afford it anymore. We will help with the av, Put us down for the sag wagon please.

We have a new Harley sponsor this year. We will be starting the run at Hacienda Harley Davidson, 15600 N. Hayden, this year instead for PERA club. The run will still go up to the lake for lunch and back to Ft. McDowell. I still have to get 1 more stop scheduled and I will update when it is confirmed.

I just wanted to stop in and say Thank You for supporting this cause once again this year. My family has suffered through this for two generations... it took the life of my Grandfather and Mom... and it's yet to be known if it will affect yet another generation. It's a disease you rarely hear of so to see you all supporting this warms my heart!!!

Eric is taking twizle along for the sag wagon ride.
We got news earlier this week about being able to attend a flyball tournament in payson this weekend and one near san diego next month. As soon as the poker run is over today, we will be heading up to payson.
I am now staying behind to take care of some things. And we both will be missing the ramada gtg tonight, which I pm'd Mike about.
Have fun, stay cool and drive safe.
