I guess I won't be able to make it to a GTG for awhile now.   I have been tasked to deploy and support the army in afghanistan.   I leave very soon, and will be gone much of 09.   My wife returns from Iraq late march, and unfortunatly I will not see her until my return.  I leave before she gets home, leaving us to face back to back overlapping deployments.   I was looking forward to nationals, as my brother lives in the in SA.   I look for ward to meet some of you later then.   Hopefully SC will rise and we can have some nice GTGS like other areas.  Tale care folks.   Not sure if I will have access to the forum where I will be stationed.

thats the problem...im not a desk job.   I am a mechanic and work on vehicles and equipment.   I have buddies that have either just returned, or currently in iraq.   A few of them have wireless in their rooms.  Im hoping i get that lucky.   I never had that luxury.   This would be my 4th deployment since 03.   Went in 03, 04, 06 and now

You know if you were not so good they would not invite you back so often.... Big laughter with tears    Just kidding  That just made me think of a co-worker I had at PAFB, he would screw things up on purpose so they would not ask him to do it again.  Beating I hated that guy.

selection process had just changed.   I was the last person in my "bucket" that hasnt been chosen.  I had already dodged two deployments this cycle.   My luck ran out.  All I asked was that I stay here long enough to spend as little as 3 days with the wife when she returns from iraq.  Duty calls though.  Our nation needs me.  However I am still upset.

Don't know you, but the fact hat you have and continue ot serve a country I love is enough to only want the best for you.  I hope your deployment goes smoothly and you return stateside safe and can enjoy time with your wife as a family again.

If you ever get bored over there, look for the fellas doing crossfit workouts and join them.  Generally a very welcome group and will do a lot to take your mind off of things.

Woohoo!  You're home!  Now drive down to Tybee.  You can be here in time for some of the activities.

Seriously, welcome home.  If you like hockey, I was planning on going to an ECHL game in Charlotte.  We can make it a gtg.  Or give me a few and I'll plan something closer to you.
