Hooters of Manassas GTG May 16th

As one of the sites newest Cruise Coordinators, I would like to propose my very first GTG/Cruise. Gulfstream V has started that ball rolling with trying to get the folks around the DC beltway active again so I would like to continue on with that.

I know there are many out there that are not fans of Hooters, but I truly love their chicken wings (among other things  ). I haven't been to a Hooters in quite a few years since the closest one is over an hour drive from me so I would like to propose a GTG at Hooters of Manassas on May 16 @ 1100.

I did stop by to check out the parking situation and there is plenty of parking across the street at the Mall of Manassas so parking is plentiful. I will call and see about reserving space in the Hooters parking lot but it is a very tight/small parking lot.

Here is a link to get directions to the Hooters if you are not familiar with the area. The actual street address is: 8503 Rixlew Ln, Manassas, VA 20109

Take exit 47 (Rt 234) off of I-66 towards Manassas and the Hooter is approximately 2 miles on the right (a lot of traffic lights). You will drive past the Manassas mall, then turn right at the light imediately after the mall (Rixlew Lane) and Hooters is immediately on the left.

If there is enough interest, afterwards we could head to Skyline Caverns. I haven't been in there in over 20 yrs but it is a great commercial cave. After the trip to Skyline caverns we could head up to for a nice scenic cruise along Skyline drive. There is a $15/vehicle entrance fee or you can get an annual pass for $30. There is also lodging and camping available along Skyline Drive which is actually located in Shenandoah National Park if anyone is interested in staying overnight.

I stopped by the Manassas Hooters briefly on my way back from the DuClaw GTG. The parking lot at the Hooter is not that big but the Mall of Manassas in literally right across the street and there is plenty of parking there.

Another "AV Curve" photo is definitely a possibility in the mall parking out but not in the Hooters parking lot.

Here is a Google earth overhead shot of the Hooters parking lot. As you can see the Hooter parking lot is pretty small with not much room for maneuvering. There is plenty of room across the street.

I think my other tech is going to cover me that day if im oncall and ive never been to hooters (even as much as i love hooters) so put me down as a yes.  I put it in my GPS and it said 70 miles, never took my baby that far before.

Just for future reference, DE is Party Central USA... Perfect for Avy Meets if anyone wants to plan something up here... I mean c'mon we've got Battery Park... A beach or two... I'm pretty sure a capitol... The Center for Banking/Corperations in the world. Etc!!!

You're correct, DE was the perfect half-way spot for a multiple states GTG, so we had one in your area, but unfortunately no one from DE showed up

It's been mighty quiet in this thread so I thought that I would give it a little bump 

Of those people that are going to be coming, how many are interested in going to Skyline caverns and how many are interested in going for a cruise on Skyline drive 

I will call about a group discount at Skyline caverns if more folks are interested in doing that but right now there are not enough people that have committed to coming to the GTG to earn a group discount.

I finally got off of my a$$ and called the Hooters (703-369-6315) 

I made reservation for approximately 20 people for 11am this Saturday. They said if everyone get there @ 11am, parking shouldn't be a problem for a group picture in the parking lot. They also said exactly what I said in the original post, the Manassas Mall is directly across the street so we could move over there after the GTG for group picture if we are not able to park all of the trucks together. Only problem with that is the Hooters girls could not go across the street for pictures with our trucks.

Yea, I am planning on being there around 10:30. The young lady that I talked with on the phone said that it really doesn't start getting busy most Saturdays until after 12pm so hopefully those of us that would like pictures with the girls can get some before then.

Here are a few pics. Only 4 of us showed with 3 av's. GulfstreamV, Trey, ALL SHOW and myself. We had a great time. The Hooters wasn't very busy so all of the girls where glad to come out and take a few pics with our trucks.

The 1st is the girls in front of our trucks, the 2nd the girls on Harrys truck, the 3rd the girls in Harry's truck and the 4th is a small family that decided to drop by during the photo shoot

Absolutely    Once they found out we wanted to take their photos in my truck they tried to steal it.  There was a fight for the driver seat.

Yea they are every where on 66.  Not that you can speed in our traffic!  Hope to see the strobes some day.  I live on a farm so trying to keep my truck clean is a challenge and I usually have hay or some kind of horse paraphernalia in it!

We can have a mini GTG with horse trailers in tow    Unfortunately my QH, like my truck, does not have any mods so I don't know if we can keep up with your Walker.

That would be cool. I have never ridden at Manassas Battlefield so that would be a cool place to meet. The horse in my avatar is actually a Morgan/TWH mix. He moves more like a QH so keeping up will not be a problem. My other horse is a 23 yo walker mare. She can move out when she wants to but she is happy just walking at a normal pace. My schedule is pretty full for the next month or so but we can maybe get together in the fall when it is a little bit cooler.

I can also do the 1st mod to your truck - install amber DRL's. It's a 5 minute mod.
