Getting back to GTG ideas, I was remembering 2 that I thought were great, and Ross actually reminded me. The Annual Niagara Falls meet. That was one hell of a weekend. And for most its not that hard of a drive. The first one was also my first time to Canada, and it was also the first and last time that my family tagged along. Well actually my brother taggeed along on the second gtg, but he had another agenda. I personally would love to see the return of that, I guess that anyone interested in taking on the challenge could talk to shapeshifter, since he was the master planner behind both gtgs. Another gtg that I miss was the Annual In The Whites, something that started out as a day trip up through the white mountains for pics and a bbq at one of the many parking areas. That evolved into an overnight event, and then finally ended with a trip up Mt Washington, which was my favorite GTG ever. I'd love to go up there again with a procession of AVs going up the mountain, one hell of an amazing site.
So those are my thoughts, and I understand that it takes about a year to plan one of these big trips, but I think it'd be worthwhile. Thumbs up!

I read everything on the threads for GTG's and White Mountains seemed to be the best GTG's NE has ever had. I would love to try and get the ball rolling on rebuilding that GTG. If we do then we need help from everyone in NE to make it a good one.

As for the Niagra Falls GTG, I have seen it come up a couple times while talking to the other CC's. I will push for something like that if thats what people want. We are a team, let me know what you guys want and I will voice it and try to get it done. But I need my teams support to do so.
I'll try to get talking to the CC's and RC and let them know we want to do something there. Unless they are reading this already!!!

I've heard nothing but good thing about it too!! My boss has a house in the area that I may look into to see how close it really is to everything up there. I would make a great "base camp" for a possible weekend event!!! Plenty of room for the AVs, and room to throw several sleeping bags on the floor or pitch a tent outside some where.

I would be 100% up for a GTG in the White Mountains. I did it once back in October of '07 and even though it was simple it was a blast! I'd love to do it during the Summer or late Summer times. I love carAvaning around. I'd love to see like 10+ trucks on the highway and going around the mountain area in a line, I LOVE SEEING THAT!  Grin

Another thing about the Niagara Falls event is that its a nice alternative to something like the nationals in the summer time. Its a long weekend compared to a week, and its easier on everyones budget. And its not even half as far as the Nationals was this year.

Also I'd be glad to help out with the planning if you need any help.

I know its kinda last minute, but I am planning on going to this car show this sunday out in my neck of the woods. Its open to anyone, car of truck, all makes/models/years. Its just $10 to enter at the gate, and then its judged by pre-selected judges. I've never been so I'll have to see what its all about. I know its a long way to drive for any of you guys, but if someone is feeling adventurous, here's the info: http://www.curtislumbercarshow.com/

Hello,
Sorry it's been a long time since I checked in Roll Eyes

The Annual Whites GTG was always my favorite Thumbs up!  Back in 02' We started as a day trip leaf peeping on the Kang and over the years it turnbut ed into a weekend staying in a local motel that included doing the Mt Washington Road for a sunset cruise (we were fogged in Cry)  Oh ya...we also had some AV river jumpers running across a local water way.  (Remember James??)      If I remember correctly we had Rich, Mark, and Tim to thank for coordinating.

Unfortuanlly I am very busy with work right now.  But will be more than happy to help out in the fall to get this GTG going again.  It was a ball!!!

Yeah I remember, and I think its time for a return to that river, maybe this time my 4hi will actually engage banghead. Yeah that was a blast, I would so love to be able to go up Mt Washington again with a bunch of AVs and have it actually be nice, and see a sunset at the highest point in the NE Thumbs up!.

I think we should try to get a big GTG before we get buried in by the snow for the winter. I would love to get one more with 10+ Avys. So if anyone has an Idea throw it on the table.

Russ,
This is a good idea. Nick (Chevzilla AV) brought this up yo me on Saturday also. So I think we will have to try getting the ball moving on something like this. Looks like it stars on Nov 13th. I can start a thread to see what date will work for most people.
