Can you install a aftermarket radio (Pioneer avh-p3100dvd) without buying the interface kit for the factory chime? (Metra GMOS-01).  I really dont care about the chime, and I dont use the OnStar (Even though it is installed).  Is there anything else that this unit does that I really need or can I just hack the factory harness?  I have no factory amp, either. Huh

Just bought the GMOS1 on ebay for $50.00.  Hopefully it is worth it!
