I know the SoCal forum recently closed but I was wondering how many CAFCNA members are still active in the southern California area. I wave to as many Avy owners as I can but they never wave back. So I am just wondering, Where is everyone at? I am in Whittier..

I see avalanches on just about every street around here but nobody waves and none of them have the club sticker. I believe it is tagging time!
We need more members in Southern California and more GTGs

I have not known someone to get in trouble over it. Plus I look at them like clearance light on a dually. Just on the back. Just stay away from colors that would attract problems. Also what colors where you place them will attract problems, too.

The forum closed, eh? I just noticed. I don't often go to the site.
Bummer!
I just tagged a few avalanches in my neighborhood (Diamond Bar) this week while walking the dog. I'd printed the flyers and then gave them to avalanche owners.

My local PD tickets for dang near everylittlething and I've frequently had them behind me with no problems. I would guess they just fall under the brake light category. As long as you don't have aux/white backup lights on while driving you're good.

We will keep our eyes out for all of your ambers in our travels. We will be at sweetwater park in Bonita this weekend for the Run Amuck's Flyby 2009 tournament. Its a fun flyball dog sport event. I guess last weekend was an agility event rohr park near by there. Nice weather for these types of events. About 30 degrees cooler right now then the valley of the sun.

Hey everyone. I'm fairly new to the forum, so I didn't even know there WAS a socal site. I'm in Santa Clarita, and I work in Universal City. I've never seen another pair of ambers and no one ever waves back out here in the valley.
We definitely need some more GTGs so I can catch the mod bug

Yes we do! But I went to my first GTG a week and a half after I joined and that was it, I can't stop modding!

I was planning a GTG for Jume but with Fathers day kids getting out of school Grads and Fourth of July around the corner. Iwas thinking of
July 19 At Silverwood Lake
http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=650
to take out some water toys What does every body think? Whom ever wants to bring water toys Boats or PWC needs to make reservations for boat launch ASAP becouse they do sell out. Let me know what you think?

And D-Loc: Replace your stock DRLs (daytime running lights) with amber bulbs. That way other members know who you are.

I used to think the same way, actually thought "super white" would make it look even nicer. But...... I tried the ambers and it does make it stand out from other avalanches(non-members), at least the silverstar ambers that are brighter, more orange-color and not bad after all. Plus it is cool because others can identify you and wave at you, even new poeple that you never met. That is the whole point and it is rewarding.

I know the SoCal forum recently closed but I was wondering how many CAFCNA members are still active in the southern California area. I wave to as many Avy owners as I can but they never wave back. So I am just wondering, Where is everyone at? I am in Whittier..

Hmmm...let's see
Get about 80 Avalanches from
SoCal
NorCal
Arizona
Utah
Oregon
and a couple other states
Show up in Irvine at a park
BBQ
Mod
Give away raffle prizes
have a GTG
Then take over the streets as a carAVan
and head to the beach for a bonfire
and a marshmellow fight in the dark
That about covers it...
I'll post some links to past ones (there have been 4)...in a few minutes

I couldn't really get them together in the same pic. But we had a lot of fun and enjoyed the cooler weather.

Hey Everyone!!
Sorry it's taken me so long to post. ChevyLightning and I arrived back in CA (San Diego) on SEP 22nd, but thanks to the Navy I've been out to sea every other week since then. I tried to make the SONIC GTG on the 18th but it didn't work out.
I've been trying to get back to SOCAL for years and am really glad to be back. I look forward to meeting you all at a GTG soon. I'm not deploying again until 2011 so let's have some fun!!
