Report: China likely to reject Hummer acquisition

That's interesting, it was never a done deal.

Thanks, I try to keep up on all auto news but it's getting more difficult by the day.

Detroit News -  "Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co. Ltd. is buying the brand, trademark, trade names and intellectual property license rights to build Hummer vehicles. The company also is taking over existing dealer agreements"

The deal should save some 3,000 jobs and the Detroit area is the front runner for Tengjhong's Hummer headquarters. AM General and GM will continue to build Hummers thru 2011 ?

It will be interesting to see what direction they take with the next generation of Hummers, I expect they will continue to work with AM General. At least Hummer isn't going to bite the dust like Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Saturn.

If it's going to the Chinese maybe it would be better if the brand did just bite the dust.
