We do not have any set plans. We were supposed to go to Taco Tote today, but did not make it. We will PROBABLY go there tomorrow. PM me for my cell number, that might be an easier way to keep in touch. Glad you made it!

and a few from the Alamo The last time I was there (about 91) There was an older gentleman walking the tour with a umbrella using it as a kane. As the tour was done he took his umbrella and ran the tip along the facade of the Alamo. No real damage from what I saw, but they took him into custody for defacing a landmark (or similar type charge)

What's the name of those caverns? They look like the ones I visited last time I was there. I think from San Antonio I had to drive that Six Flag's Texas (or some TX theme park) in order to get to them.

Going through the locks on the river (supposedly, the world's smallest lock system - just big enough to hold the river taxis)

Don't know if this should be in the nationals thread or tagging one. After getting the av washed a guy in an av was coming out of the local restaurant. He stopped talked to me and I gave him the web address. He hung around met us all. Heck, Musics gave him a free mod. He even rode with us to freedom chevrolet. He stayed for awhile and really enjoyed himself. He kept telling me he's glad he stopped. He said him and his wife saw 3 avs at a stoplight and was wondering if there was a club around. Then this morning when he saw me and all the other avs he figured there was.

Probably both...but HERE it just adds to the excitement of the Nationals and the impact this Club brings to other owners who may have never heard of us before... Great story...loved reading it...so what was the Mod? Rear Headrest? Ambers? Thanks for sharing that...

Great pictures and stories! It looks like Freedom Chevy took good care of you guys. Who is the couple who have the patio umbrella on the hitch? I met them at last year's Nationals but forgot already, I have loved that mod and have been thinking about a modified version of it myself.......with my teak wood and beach scene in the rear window I think that I need it and a TIKI bar at the rear. Great time at Freedom Chevrolet with the Corvette club. What a combination-- Vettes and AV's. Had to get some for our daughter of the "Barbie Vet."

Congrats to TCG and JJ for a successful 2009 National Chevy Avalanche Meet. I know the work and effort that goes into making these events happen and I applaud you both for a job very well done. Now, sit back, relax and get some much needed rest, you both deserve it.

Thanks! We had a blast, but I would be remiss if I didn't call out a big thanks to JRAM for all of his efforts in pulling this event off! JJ

Nationals were a blast. This was my first big GTG and Mrsekgguy and I want to thank TCG, JJ and JRam for all their hard work and dedication. We were only there for a couple of days but it was start to finish events and different ways to keep everyone busy. It was great finally getting to put faces with the names and the avy's there were awesome. We can't wait to see everyone again
Again, thanks to TCG, JJ and JRam. I am sure that they are enjoying a well deserved rest.

Congratulations to Texascwgrl and all who attended Nationals '09. I am sorry we could not make it, but Kim still has another week of school (teaching at a 12 month elementary) and Taylor stills has another week of kindergarden. I am glad you all had a great time. Thanks for the pictures.

Great pics! Thanks for posting and keeping us "with you". Can you tell us what you were doing/had at Goo's grave in the photo? Thanks!! We wrote up a memorial note and I was leaving one for Pete National Chevy Avalanche Meet NCAGTG 2009 - San Antonio, TX July 18, 2009 – July 25, 2009 GOO929 Memorial Pete Sauceda For those who don't know, goo929 - aka Pete, died at 6:00 PM on December 31, 2002 of a heart attack. Pete was one of the earliest members of the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club joining on February 6, 2002. Pete was the most prolific poster on CAFCNA, and was generous with his time and money toward the club. He was one of the strongest supporting forces and helped put together the largest meets and cruises in the club. Pete was working on the 2003 Southwest Meet at the time of his passing. The Chevrolet Avalanche community lost a friend, an ally and a very good man. Pete’s Place is still the most popular spot on CAFCNA

Thanks for the pics. I hated not being able to make this GTG, especially since I was in TX at the time. Great pic of the haunted RR crossing! Heard about it in college, but never got to see it. Also, really, really like Mitierra and Gruene hall

Thanks to everybody posting pics for those of us who could not be there; it made my day everyday just looking at them. Congrats to everybody who help make this a fun and enjoyable time for all both present and in spirit. Wish we could have made it. Now everybody get some much needed rest.

LOL... I just reread this ... too funny~ I like the story. If someone washed a couple cars, stopped them there to be 'rolled' across the tracks, and then have a cop or crime scene guru dust them for prints and compare any found ...... matching them from one car to another, THAT would be freakie. Again, I wish we could have made it.
