both of you need to man up and talk. You dont need someone else to help.. Its your responsiblity since you 2 decided to have children. Handle your own problems and dont rely on someone else.

I went through this about five years ago and it sucked. I am now remarried with a one year old and could not be happier. Work on yourself  and your job for now. Don't worry about other things at this time. You will know when you are ready. The one thing that I did learn form my divorce is men can get custody of the kids. I have my two boys full time. Anything that you and your future ex wife come up with get it in writing and notarized. When it comes to someone paying child support or alimony go through the court system for all payments. I don't care how nice you guys are being GO THROUGH THE COURTS FOR PAYMENTS! I did not do this and my ex owes me thousands of which gets paid here and there. Remember never bring the kids into your guys problems. If they ask you questions about their mother let her answer the questions about her. In the end of everything your kids will always love both of you and they will always be yours. Don't give in either. We split everthing up ourselves then had it notarized, but I still had a lawyer look over EVERYTHING before it went to get filed at the court house. The lawyer has your best interest in mind. Hope it helps and I will be more than happy to help if you have any other questions. Matt

i disagree.  the only thing extra we had to do was show proof of a parenting class.  no lawyer involved at all.

proof of a parenting class?  Shocked    whats up with that?    do you have to meet some state standard on parenting?  and if you dont pass the class sorry no custody?

request another judge or do the paperwork yourself.

if you have come to a mutual agreement on everything, then file the papers yourself.  It cost me $369 and a $40 parenting  class.  No judge, no lawyers, no going to court.
