Any recommendations for a replacement radio/cd player in my '05 LT?  The current system, while nice, doesn't play MP3 CDs and I'm not interested in activating the included satellite radio.  Also, the navigation system is pretty lousy compared to my TomTom, so I don' t need that either.

Thanks in advance.

I have a Panisonic CQ-C7203U that I never installed into my truck... I was pretty happy with it and the stuff you can do with it. The thing I REALLLY liked would have to be that you can make a background on ur comp and then put it onto the HU!! I have no use for it

your going to get a ton of opinions, i like my kenwood dvd player but alpine decks are nice.  but it's good to see you have some kind of direction as to what your looking for. my suggestion is to go to a audio shop and look at what's offered around you. find one that plays mp3's (which is pretty much any today) and decide if you want to expand (like add subs, amps, bluetooth heands free set, etc) and then have the sales person show you which ones will meet your needs and then play with the deck, go through the menus and control it and see how user friendly it is.  don't try to follow what the sale guys when he's scrolling through the menus because he's used that deck show showings many times and know excatly how to go through things and can make it look really easy. but the biggest thing to remember is decide on what you want to do and might want to do in the future and buy a deck for that....remember, it's the source of all the sound for your whole system.

I really like the Pioneer AVIC Z110BT that I just installed in my '08 LTZ.  Check it out, along with pricing I paid and installation details here:  http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=26314&p=182225#p182225

It is considerably better than the stock Nav system that came with the truck.  And, I currenlty have an 8GB USB flash drive plugged in to the unit through the cable that is in the glove box, as well as a 16 GB class 6 compact flash drive that plugs directly into the unit behind the front screen.  That gives me TONS of MP3 song capacity!  I also modified the startup screen to include my own photo, which is easy to do by storing it on the compact flash drive.

The AVIC Z110BT just came out,and is the best unit available today, from any manufacturer.  I did the research before buying it, and then bought it without actually ever having seen one first hand, and I cannot be more pleased with it.

Good luck in whatever direction you go.
