Well I'm finally moved in (mostly). Sorry I haven't posted for almost two weeks, but I've been busy almost nonstop. I would like to thank you all for your help and advise in making this move a little easier.  I've settled into an apartment just off 31 in the southport area. It's kind of nice having everything so close to me.  It's really helping with the gas usage also. I've only used a bit over 1/4 tank all week! Back home I would have to fill up at least once a week, sometimes more.

Looks like I'll need a brake job this week.  Sigh After I dropped the uhaul trailer off I noticed some brake squealing. I guess the extra trailer weight did a number on my pads during the trip. I'm planning on going to "Car Rx" tomorrow. Have you heard of any one having problems with them?

Hey Dave, any swap meets coming up soon, or have i missed the last of the season?

Just for the record, this bachelor lifestyle sucks.  Thumbs down I can't wait to see my wife again. I know it's at least as hard on her as it is on me. At least we have free minutes when we call each other on our cell phones. Well if I want breakfast I guess I have make it myself.  Sigh So see ya later.

damn!! i should have checked back earlier today!!  banghead  got caught up in updating maps in my Garmin. I figured I should update as last week it took me to the OLD airport!!  Shocked I was  driving around trying to figure out how to get my wife to airport in time for her flight while I didn't know where it was.  Huh I ended up going almost all the home and restarting the gps. Luckily I saw the sign on the interstate for the new airport when I first started out.  Roll Eyes

You are just in time there is a large swap meet at the Marion county fairgrounds this Friday and Saturday (18th-19th) from 8am to 5pm. I'm going to take off early on Friday and head out there about noon time. The Marion County Fairgrounds is about 15 mins from 31 and Southport area. If you want to meet up let me know.   Dave    P.S. I might be able to back on Saturday if Friday is no good for you.

Thanx for the heads up!!  Thumbs up! I might go on Thurs after work  Drive! (I get off at 2pm). According to their web site it lasts from thurs to sat, and if they have a weekend pass, I might go all three days!

I wonder if it is as big as the meets back home in Carlisle, Pa? That lasts for five days, on 102 acres with 8100 vendor spots! I've never been able to do that meet in one day.

pm or email me if you want to meet up sometime on fri or sat.

It is nowhere near as big as Carlisle, You can cover this one in a 4-5 hours and pretty well see everything (at least I can).

Dave,

I found out today I won't be able to make it to the swap meet on Friday OR Saturday.  Cry I was asked today if I could work OT and I can't pass up the money. I could really use the extra cash after being laid off for 6 months. I did make it out to the fairgrounds after work today. Got there about 2;45. I know it was an off time and not all vendors would be there, but I was very disappointed at what I saw. It seemed about the same size as the Pittsburgh summer meet, and much smaller than the meet in Canfield ohio. And no comparison to Carlisle, Pa. It also seemed to have a much larger percentage of pre-war and 50's parts than what i am used to.

well, enjoy yourself on Friday. Sorry I can't meet up with you.

No problem Paul, It usually gets better on Friday & Saturday at that swap meet, I know of couple other ones that are coming and will keep in touch when they are closer. Are you interested in attending any car shows? I have two coming up soon that I will be attending and one is right off Southport Road and Emerson Ave. on Oct 2nd. The other is about 20 miles to the east in the town of Greenfield on Oct 3rd.

Well Paul are you all settled in and liking our area yet? We need to get something set up so we can meet! My wife hurt her foot on our trip to Tennessee a couple of weeks ago but she is starting to get around again.

I got the pm and it sounds like a good idea. If I'm not working OT that day I'll come. It would be nice to meet everyone.

Great. We usually meet at the Meijer store at exit 26 off of I-69 when cruising north, I will post a time as it gets closer.
