I have a Garmin street Pilot that I use in my 07 AV.  I wante it connected to a switched power outlet so I disconnedted one of my outlets and ran a new hot wire from the hot w/ ignition lug in the panel under the dash.  The outlet works fine when I turn on the ignition, BUT the GPS won't come on.  If I plug it into the oter outlet it works fine and I can plug othr items into the switched outlet and they work.  It is driving me nuts!  Any Ideas why the GPS won't work but everything else does?

I hve the Garmin Nuvi 680 and I did the same thing - rewired the passenger side Cig Lighter so that it was switched (See thread here).  Since everything else is working, I would suggest calling Garmin.  Does it switch on if you hit the power button on the GPS?

It switches on if I move it to the outlet that is not connected to the igniton, and any thing else I plug into the switched outlet works fine.
