We are moving to Minneapolis. We will most likely be there around Dec. Yeah right smack in the middle of winter so that is gonna really suck. We visited family up there a couple weeks ago(no ambers the whole trip). I only got to see the Maple Grove area. Are there any other nice areas not to far from downtown? I want to rent the wife wants to buy.

Best of luck on the move. Boy do I know about that December moving stuff. Last year we left Las Vegas for Salt Lake City and traveled up in one of the worst storms I had ever been in. Winter moving is not real pleasant.

The wifey is a gov employee so we dont have to pack or touch anything. That part is cool but Minneapolis winters just seem like torture. I am gonna need lots of Jack Daniels to make it thru til spring!! I am from South Carolina so anything under 40 degrees is brutal for me. We are gonna need at least 1 4x4 in the fam so the Avy may be up for grabs. I just hope there is stuff to do there. Somebody find me a house please. 3 or 4 bedrooms with a backyard big enough for a Husky to run laps in is what we need.

I save the Gentleman Jack for special occasions! Will I need some antifreeze like some Yukon Jack Schnapps? We have 10 day house hunting trip before we move there and I need an idea of what areas to look first or even listing or a realtors #.

Ok. We looked at some listings in Maple Grove and...... we will NOT be living in Maple Grove!!! 750k and up. I dont think so. If anyone sees a house for sale anywhere other than Maple Grove please jot down the # or realtor. We will most likely be up there Nov 7 ish for 10 days. Thanks.

I did some looking at the remax.com site. All I'll say is Maple Grove must be a super nice area 3,000,000 Dollars for a vacant lot.  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Yeah it is a nice area but too nice for us normal people. My wife has a cousin that lives there but we do not have that kind of money. I dont want to buy she does!! If we buy that means no more moving and no chance of getting back to MIAMI!! Man I miss Miami!

We made a offer on a house in Maple Grove. They were asking 189k and we offered 175k + closing costs. We looked at over 30 houses and liked this one the best. It is 2000 sqft, split level, on a .44 acre lot, and in a quiet growing neighborhood. I hope we get it. The weather here took a crappy turn so I dont really want to go out to look at anymore.

They came back with 185k,we countered with 180k+closing costs and they accepted. I will be closing before Dec 15 and spending Christmas in the cold frozen north. We kinda like the city and will try to enjoy ourselves in APRIL when the snow thaws. Big laughter with tears

We are in the new crib kinda. We closed Tuesday morning and the moving company was there Tuesday afternoon. We are unpacking boxes but still go back to  the Residense Inn at night because the cable guy doesnt come till Saturday. It is funny how 7 degrees doesnt feel so bad after -25!!
