Lucky you.

Thanks for the suggestion John.  That will help me diagnose the problem so that I can fix it, the only problem is the last time I asked an auto parts store to check my codes they would not reset it, only tell me the problem.  Its a start I guess.

Well, I have a computer program that will tell us the codes, and a close estimate in real words of where to start looking.  BUT, it will 'cost' about $100.00 or more for the credits that have to be 'redeemed' to add your truck to my computer program.   (and I am heading out of town real soon and wont be available for a couple weeks.   Sorry.

Good news and bad news.  You can get the codes from the Auto Parts store, but it wont always pinpoint what is wrong, probably just a system to look at.  But if you get the codes, and do a search on the internet and/or this forum you can get a pretty good gues as to what is wrong.

If you figure it out and fix the problem disconnect the battery for a while, about 20 minutes I think, and it will reset the codes.

Worse case scenario, if you can't figure it out and need a place to take it to that wont mess you over I will PM you a place I use.  Great guy, family owned shop.  I take my AV there when I can't get it done myself.

No, they can't - however you also didn't request that capability in your initial post.  Depending on the code, resetting it as effective only until you start the truck up again anyway - find out the code and go from there.

Thanks Mike for the info.  I didn't know that unplugging the battery for 20 minutes would reset the code.  I think a trip to the parts store is in order.

When are we starting on your back yard??
