GMOS-LAN-01

When I installed my HU, I used the Axxess GMOS-LAN-01, which is for non amplified systems...does this mean that I can't add an after market amp and still use the GMOS-LAN-01.

Ok, no one has chimed in on an answer here, so I asked Crutchfield about this (via live chat), and they insist that I can install an amp using the GMOS-LAN-01. I can't see how this would work. If the speaker connections are by- passed at the LAN and are only connected to the amp, how am I going to get the chimes and onstar to come thru the speakers?

hey man i ran into this same problem. Metra told me that GM amplifies the door chime audio. So you can't put that audio through the amp. I don't know where it is amplified, but it is. I ran RCAs from the deck to my amps. Like you prob did.
This is what I did:<a href="
http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=10&imgid=376840081
" target="_blank"><img src="
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1394/12609841/22430773/t-376840081.jpg
" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at
www.picturetrail.com
" /></a
I used the Front l/r audio wires from the harness for these speakers I built. Now I have Onstar. But I couldn't get the door chimes to work and I gave up, so tired of dealing with all those wires and sh*t.
I also couldn't get the door chimes to work, b/c I used the original factory speaker wires to power leds I now have in my doors behind the speaker grilles.

I've been searching all over the net trying to find out what other people have done, and like you, they installed a small speaker under the dash. So basically what I need to do is disconnect all speaker leads going to the LAN module, in order to connect the speakers to the amp? You have a center console that those speakers are hiding under, right?

i have the same truck as you. Yep, they are hidden and, you can hear them fine. You will be able to get the door chimes to work. Unlike me.
Also, make sure the speakers or speaker you use is at least 4". Or you will not hear the chimes.

I have the LS model which does not have the center console, so I'll have to hide them elsewhere. Maybe some slim 2 or 3 inch speakers in the front kick panels.

Just realized that OnStar and chimes play out of the front left speaker only, and If I were to hook up a small speaker, the music would play out of it also...not what I want
...but, if the rest of the speakers are amplified the volume for the small speaker will remain low while the amplified speakers will be high, so I guess that would be ok.

Would it be easier to just get a different adapter that would replace the GMOS-LAN-01?

Found out, that after wiring all 4 door speakers to the amp, I still get the chimes and OnStar thru the front pillar tweeters. Not very loud but loud enough to hear.

Greetings fellow Avy owners! I just finished my Alpine CDA-9886 HU install, along with two 10-inch Infinity Reference Series Subs, 1 MTX Thunder 801D amplifier, 1 840W 2-channel Power Acoustic amplifier, and 4 Infinity Reference series 6.5" door speakers. I utilized the Axxess GMOS-LAN-01 adapter, ran the amplified speaker signals from the amp through the interface/adapter. I also installed the PAC-SWI adapter as well. I have retained all chime/On-Star functionality through the normal left door speaker. The only factory piece I lost was the audible turn signal indicator. The Axxess GMOS-LAN-01 adapter has a provision for attaching a relay to it to restore the "audible" turn signal indicator. Everything works awesome, no issues. I hope this helps someone.
By the way, I have a 2007 LT 4X4.
