I have owned a new 07 & 08 and both were very tight (no interior rattles).  My 09 has a rattle somewhere above the passenger seat, over the driver seat, the left windshield pillar and occationally in the backseat..It's not terrible but is annoying.   Sounds like a loose cabling and plastic creaking..(maybe GM stopped using cable ties to save some $$) Anyone notice this and if so have you found the cause?

Love the Avalanche otherwise, 6.0 & 6spd work great together..

I previously had an 06 and have an 09 now.   My 09 is definitely much quieter than my 06 was.   I do get a little creaking from my 09, but it is the overhead DVD system in the rear.   If I hold my hand on it while driving the noise goes away so I use a little bit of interior trim cleaner (wipe it down) and it quiets the creak.  I think it is the screen rubbing when closed.   I also have noticed a bit of creaking from the door jambs, but it is the rubber seals.  I spray them down every couple weeks with silcone spray and everything is quiet.

Hey guys!

I had an 07 with some noise when i got over some speed bumps under the truck. Also there was an rattle in the dashboard at the drivers side under the steeringwheel. I just put some thick 2 sided duck tape in it. And that rattle was gone it seemd that the metal part in that area was hititng the metal in the dashboard.

Now i have an 09 and sometimes the window in the roof creaking but it depends an temperature and if there is much wind. Seems like the rubber is a bit weak there when i push it its gone. And i got the same rattle in the dashboard as the 07. But solved that the same way. I'v put on about 15.000 miles on my truck and that are the only sounds that i have. I would suggest get thick dubbel sided duct tape its like rubber with 2 sticky sideds on it. And make sure everything that can rattle is set tight with that. It seemd to work on my truck!

Goodluck! Anyone an idea about the roof window?

Thanks...I can't seem to find the source of the rattle on the passenger side.  It may be the sunroof...

Do you have a luggage rack? Make sure it is all tightened up. Mine made a noise until I fixed it.

I have an 08 Z71 with similar squeaks and rattles when driving over bumps in the road.  As you said,  it nothing major, but it is annoying.  I haven't mustered up the time or strength to scope out the source.

Just brought home Friday an 09 Av LTZ Graystone 6.0 liter with GM 22's (CK916) after owning 3 previous Av's.  (04,05,07) loved them all.  Wish I could have ordered the 4:10 gears with this one also but maybe she will get better mileage.  I had to order this 09 Av because the dealers were having a hard time finding an LTZ with the 6.0 liter in it.  Pics to follow. chevy

My 07 LTZ had a 6.0 liter in it also, but this 09 so far seems to run much quieter

My '07 was solid.  My '08 has several rattles.

My 08 and 09 are/were both solid but I think the 09 seems a little quieter. Likely just going from 4.10 to 3.43 gearing for lower rpms. The 09 does have bowing in the cup and cubby covers in the console that the 08 didn't have. Love the cooled seats in the summer.

OK, so the rattle up above the passenger seat finally bugged me enough that I started pulling stuff apart to find it.  I removed the handle from the passenger side W/S pillar and pulled off the pillar trim which allowed me to pull down the headliner just enough to feel around for the source.  I felt a few cables so I shoved a rag in there to tighten things up...Put it back together, test drive and rattle is gone....Funny how the little things make such a big difference.
