i have a 05 AVA and the abs lights came on once a couple weeks ago and reset when i restarted the truck. now, the abs is kicking in as i am rolling to a stop, slow speed, light pressure on the pedal. its getting worst from a couple times 2 weeks ago to every time i stop at slow speed now.  i took out the wheel sensors in the hubs and cleaned them last night, but they did not look dirty. wires look ok to me too, no visable signs of wear. any way to check them without going to the dealer? what else could be causing this? can anyone help? thanks?

my dealer replaced my speed sensor under a recall when this happened to me.  Some states were involved, but not all.  Might want to search for that.

Mine did the same thing, almost got in a accident because of it. The problem was in the wheel sensor threads apparently there was a problem with corrosion getting in between the threads and the chassis causing the ABS to kick in once I cleaned them I never had that problem again. I believe there was a thread about this a few years back.

Do a search for ABS Sensor...   the flat surface on the wheel hub, and the flat surface on the sensor - corrosion builds up between these two flat surfaces and causes the sensor to become mis-aligned.   OR....  you could have a bad wheel hub/bearing causing the sensor to send bad codes.  It is a hard one to diagnose, I have been driving with mine this way for about 6 months.   Wave

Many times when the sensors are reinstalled the o-ring gets out of the groove and  the sensor is then out to far.

Im not sure if im having the same problem as your describing, but maybe you can help:

The past few mornings, when Ive started my truck, and my foots on the brake, the brake pedal kickes back at me for a split second...then today, as I was driving, when I lightly taped the brakes going literally about 10 mph up to a stop sign near a school, when I touched the brake pedal it jumped back at me pretty strong.

This happened also at freeway speeds when Id tap the brakes lightly, and medium presure in the freeway stop and go traffic.

Does this sound like what your experienceing.?

No lights for me - Thanks
