Help me! The right power outlet on the dashboard below the radio has stopped working but the fuses are good and the left outlet works fine.  I believe the wire must be burned or disconnected (I use this frequently with accessories).  Is there an easy way to pull that outlet without having to pull the dashboard?  2007 Model.

I came up with the same problem with my 03. I was taking my son back to base (29 Palms) when all my auxilury power ports stopped working. I stopped and picked up the correct fuse and replaced with no luck, when I checked the fuse on the main engine box I noticed the wrong size fuse was installed. I replace with correct size and still no luck. I think the wiring must have gone bad so I am clueless on correcting this. Hopefully someone will provide me with tips.

My next option is going to salvage yard to buy auxilury power ports from a wrecked Avalanche and see if that works. By the way I am new to this site and I like it, its very resourcefull information from the members. Good luck to both of us.

AutoZone, WalMart, etc all sell replacement cigarette lighter sockets.  Why not just buy on of those for $7-10?

It could be that the socket is burned up, or the wire bight have comeoff the back and it won't cost you anything to fix.

thank you ms38w. I did try that already. I pulled out the connections to make sure nothing was wrong with them. the funny thing is I never used the cig. plug or the rear plug under rear radio control. I sometimes used the front power port, my wife would charge her cell phone. I also pulled out the front cover to track wiring but I could only see little and I am not a mechanic but I do like to do things myself. Thank you I do appreciate your advise.

Do you have a volt meter?  Make sure you are getting power to the back of the power port where the wires connect to it.  If there are =+/- 12 V then the outlet itself is bad and you can buy a cig plug at WalMart.  If there is no power there, you'll have to dig deeper.

Same thing MS38W says, but here's a link to a thread of mine with pics where I made the right one switchable.  You do NOT need to remove the dash.  Switched Cigarette Lighter

It looks like they only have one fuse for the front ones. if one works and the other does not.... then it is either the wire or socket.

if a bigger fuse was installed  Sad  more than likely the wire is the culprit, but the socket could be bad also. Do you have 2, 3 or 4 in the front and one in the back seat?
