Unlike Ford, Chrysler and most other automakers, who actually build many of their concepts, this is just another tease like the Avalanche Z71 Plus, and last seasons crop of hotted up SEMA Silverado concepts were.

...personally, I would have stuck it in General Motors News and Discussion  Thumbs up!

We'll never see it. However, I would like to have that rear bumper/exhaust system though.

That's horrible. Looks like someone decided to use a set of stairs for the fenders the way the fender flairs are sitting on top of flared fenders! Is THAT the BEST GM can do these days? As mentioned by lordvette, the Earnhart edition... now that's nice and was done right. This is a joke.

Pathetic!  GM should stick to pavement queens and leave the off roading to the Raptor and Power Wagon.  Taking a stock Silverado and giving a little lift and 35" does not put it in the same class as the Ford or Dodge offerings.  Sad.

“We think this is a more realistic design that better suits a wider variety of tasks that trucks are used for."
I can't for the life of me find any mention by a GM representitive in the article that infers or implies this ZR2 version is conceived to compete with any other specific branded product , including the limited purpose Ford Raptor or otherwise in the market place today. As for the Earnhardt version, it uses near indentical wheel well flairs color schemed to the same step up fender lines. Really not much else materially or visual different outside roof lights and cosmetic alteration to the front bumper and lighting areas. I'll reserve a final judgement on the ZR2 idea until and if it ever materilizes.  With the addition of the 550-horsepower LS supercharged engine, which generally mirrors engine torque ratings closely to horsepower and the improved weight to horsepower ratio, it wouldn't be a four wheel drive slouch to kick up a little sand in either....................
