Yes you are nuts.     Just kidding   But as far as the Digital HD Touch screen 7" CAR DVD Player GPS Nav IPOD, if it doesn't have internet capabilities how are you supposed to keep tabs on CAFCNA?

If you have an 02, the double-din stereo (either one) would be a problem.....  Unless you are planning on modding the dash too...

why the second one over the first one??

I'm wavering between cheep and more $$$ cheep and also moving parts to brake 'tip screen'

I have never had a motorized screen so I'm skittish

I want
nice screen .... pic and size
bluetooth
DVD... 2 zone is nice
steering wheel control .... I'm modded for this and have big mod for this coming
AMP out puts
rear cam input
GPS is nice but I know were all the MC D's are

Just went to local store ......  $ Shocked Shocked Shocked ShockedShocked Shocked

then we got into an argument over the $100 install price, I said they wouldn't do it for that and they said they would....lol
The smart one asked the year of my AV, Ya   they wont touch it....lol

Those are nice.  I like the first one, a little more $$$$ but seams well worth it.

If I had the $$$$ I would get it to up grade the one I have now.

Maybe I can get this one for me and put the other in the wifes 300.

I haven't been a fan of the double din set-up. I don't like the idea of everyone passing by seeing what I have. I do have a flip up monitor though. It's been in 2 trucks now and has never given me a problem.

It's true, you get what you pay for. Best thing to do is get the one you know will suit your needs the best. My HU does more than I need it to do, and I never went ahead with some of the plans I had for it. Both HUs look nice and seem to cover more than just the basics. It's a tough choice. We all want the best on a "not the best " budget.

Man this is a fun..cough... install

Wouldn't be so bad if I haven't spent 8 years modding the stocker in. Its like giving Frankenstein a new brain without anaesthesia. Removing all the mods being replaced but keeping the ones staying ... working

Leaving mods Wired to stock radio
tape deck
DVD player
5 inch screen
TV tuner/ distribution center
rear cam, wired 2 way. reverse and override
RSE modded in rear console
02 steering controles
All amp inputs X2, High inputs

I'm sure I'm missing stuff.

Their instructions on using steering wheel inputs are non existant, that took 3 hours to figure out. but they work!  Not to mention I put a 03 steering wheel in my 02.... that's another story....

Well time to get back to work, I have the 03 dash bucket in and I have the temp controles half in. I got a used 03 dash trim for $20

Anyway the radio sounds better than the stocker. It takes a second or to to change radio to CD Probably the same as the 02 radio. Probably just a new radio wait.......

One thing that bugs me though, you leave a CD or DVD in it then go to radio and shut it off, when you turn the radio back on the face goes into open and shut mode?Huh?

Oh well I guess it will train me

omg

its in.... that was a chore!

I'm not done by any means but it looks fine and works.

I had switches in the onstar pod but I'm moviong them to the steering wheel now so I stole the cubbie out of my wifes AV and put in mine.....

got another cubbie back by takeing out the tape deck and I have a huge hole were the dvd player was behind the flap....

I love the bluetooth!   As I was listening to music , while working , peeps kept calling... touch one button on the wheel or screen and your talking..... I love that almost as much as the hang up button

So do you think it was difficult becuase of all your stuff you had previous? Do you think it would be pretty straight forward if you have the stock unit and nothing else?
