Puddle lamps
«
on:

Okay, I've searched everything "puddle lamps" and can't find the answer I need.
My problem is that mine aren't working. I've changed bulbs already.
I've also set the perimeter lighting to "on".
I've checked the manual for fuse location and don't see "puddle or perimeter lighting".
Is there a separate fuse? I'm about to pull my hair out.

The BCM, drivers door module (DDM), and the passenger door module (PDM) communicate through the class 2 serial data system. The DDM and the PDM supply power and ground to the left and right exterior lamps respectively. When the BCM commands illuminated entry, a command is also sent to the DDM/PDM for illumination of the exterior courtesy lamps. If the door locks are activated to the LOCK position, or if the ignition switch is turned to either the ON or RUN position the exterior courtesy lamps will deactivate immediately.

OK.... lets try this. Do you have/know how to use a multimeter?
If you do, take the light out of the clips and see if one side has 12v, if you get that put the bulb back in and ground the side that did not have 12v.
Did it come on?

Did you accidently hit the button on the bottom left side of the dash and turn it off ?
There is a round buttom, about a half inch in size located on the left bottom side of the dash by the Headlight control that turns on and off the dome lights and puddle lights, and this buttom is unmarked.
I would try that as this has happened to me, and I had to take it to my Chevy dealer to find out what was wrong, and they showed me !
I felt like a fool, but now I know.
Good luck,
Bobby.

That button only turns the domes on and off, it isn't affecting the puddles. I still need to get a meter and check for power, when I get the time.

No, my tester was out on loan and never returned. I'm going to be getting a new multimeter soon.
I believe they are 212's, whatever the stock bulb number is.

If you want to test the bulbs, the puddle lamps use the same bulbs as the middle bulb in the "rear map light". I believe they are called "festoon" bulbs.

No SEO 1. There is an SEO B1. I don't know if they are one in the same or not.

Nope, not the same.
Since the power must come throught the BCM. Check driver side fuse box for TBC 2A, 2B & 2C.
But you said the interior courtesy lights work. The puddle lights share the same voltage.
Since both are not working. It would be rare that maybe both bulbs are bad?

I changed the bulbs already, so I'll just wait until I get the meter and then check for power.

Yes, I'm aware of the polarity issue with LEDs, but I haven't installed the LEDs yet. I'm still trying to make sure that I am getting power to the contacts.

Do you have the PERIMITER LIGHTS turned on for BOTH driver 1 AND driver 2?
You might have the option turned on for one driver and are using the keyfob for the other driver? The option is separate for driver 1 and driver 2.

Nope, #2 is not being used currently. As a matter of fact, neither one is, I only use the Viper remote.
