Look at this quack!

Umm, how is this a North Face? NOT! Look at the history report as well! What a piece of junk!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330378091373&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123
I sent him an email kindly saying it was NOT a North Face. He then told me to check the Autocheck where it reads "Avalanche 1500 / 1500 North Face." Wow.
Sorry, I didn't know where I should put a topic warning people of fraudulent auctions...

Interesting...Its listed on craigslist as a "Northwest" edition, which is probably a package (painted cladding, etc.) offered by some local dealer. He probably ran the carfax and saw the North Face Edition (they all say that) and got confused. He also says it has "neutral (for towing)".
I don't know if its a piece of junk or not, but it certainly is not worth anything near the $15k he's asking.

Hmm, weird. This guy is definitely not too bright/honest!
The AutoCheck he provided shows the odometer reading is wrong and it has been involved in accidents.

Definitely not a NFE since it has regular leather seats with pre sets.
A paint job of the cladding makes it a NW edition....not! Us Northwesterners lover our Avs cladded with the original rubber made color and texture. Makes us look rugged.
That truck is located on the east side of my state in the middle of wine country. Some dealer must have made up a NW package to sell to yuppie vintners that could not afford Escalades.

Nevermind the fact that it has a normal instrument cluster...not a white one.

He sent me an email asking if I could help him out since the seller said it was a North something and he saw the vin had Northface in it. Also the dealer said that it was custom blah blah blah. Very nice of him to ask for help though.

That is one used up looking Avy, I would never pay that much for that one. His whole write up on the truck just sounds like alot of BS. I think he will be lucky to even get $10g's for it.

Looking at the tile history, it looks like it might of been run through a state (MO) to clean the title. I remember reading about that happening with salvage titles a few years ago, unless you pull a full report on the vehicle you never know.

Dealers will say anything to help sell there truck. When I had to get rid of my 03 arrival blue that I made my own "New England Patriots Edition" with custom badges and stickers. I told the dealer that I would remove those things before I turn it in. He told me not too because they were going to list it as a New England Patriots Edition, I told him that it was not a Patriots Edition that I made it that way, he said thats not a problem. When they listed it on line and in the magizines it was listed as a "New England Patriots Edition".
I am sure it had nothing to do with the Patriots winning the superbowl 3 out of 4 years back then
Boy I still miss that truck.
I did meet the guy who bought the truck at a local car show and gave him my # to give to his buddy but he nevered called

Few years back, I took my roomate out to look for a truck. He spotted a F*rd ranger so we pulled in. The salesman went on to talking about "this and that" about the truck. He was selling it for 5,000. We asked several times about what engine it had. He finally replied "It has AN engine..."but didnt want to pop the hood. I finally walked away to look at another truck and by the time I got back, I heard my roomate state "you'd be lucky if I gave you $2,000 for this truck!" The salesman was deep in thought and actually said, "would you take it for that much?" We just laughed as we walked off the lot.

This AV was junk titled, taken out of state, issued a salvage title, taken out of state, then given a clean title.
I wouldn't give $0.50 for this AV.... ok, maybe $0.50. I can part out the AV and sell the parts for cheap!

Yep, someone did a title wash on that one. I would skip on that AV, no matter how much I wanted an AV and how little money I had...
