I am new to this club and new to Avalanche ownership. I have had my 09 AV about 2 months and love it. It did not come with the navigation unit and I am working towards upgrading from a 6-disk to a Nav unit. I have been reading on this subject for three days and still do not have all of my  questions answered so here goes.

I have a UQ3 radio code and have purchased a 25797978 HU (from an 08 Yukon), VSS wiring harness, GPS antenna. I think I have the install instructions down. My concerns now are, will this HU work? Do I need an amp? And if so what kind of amp to go with the PAC-AOEM-GM1416. Any help is greatly appreciated and information on any other thing I have over looked.

Welcome! to the club Towboater1

The 25797978 HU is made by Denso instead of Delphi I know the Delphi can be programmed to work with the UQ3/UQ5 (enhanced Speaker System) or the Bose speaker system. I'll check some more Saturday.

Nope the UQ3 does not have a external AMP you will have to add a amp to the system using the 1416 adapter.

Will the HU I have work? Do you have any recommendations for an amp. The adapter says it is a 4ch is that all I need, any 4ch amp?  Thanks again for your help.

Yes that model will work with the AV, I don't have a recommendation for a AMP. I'm sure someone who has done this will chime in. Good luck with it
