Hey guys, check out this pict of my negative battery terminal and see if you can offer some more possible advice on how to get this bad boy off.  I've been working on it for the last 10 minutes with a brand new Vice Grip and still no luck.

Is there some trick I need to know.  My Blazer's battery terminal nut came off with a quick socket this one is giving me a hell of a time. Thanks!

I was trying that but I'll give it another whirl, I just get so frustrated that I have to walk away before I break something.  Can you say in need of Anger Managment?

maybe vice-grips and use a screwdriver to put a lil pressure on it by prying slightly

I've tried pretty much everything and nothing seems to be working.  When I bring my truck into Carmax Monday or Tuesday I'm going to see if they can get it off for me and maybe even replace it if possible.

I'm really bummed cause I wanted to get this working and I also wanted to test my tubes for my underbody so I could start working on all my neon.

Oh well!  banghead

Try putting the vise-grips on the larger part of the bolt instead of the hex part.

Then there is a little tab on the connector itself.  I used a very little screwdriver to get it out.  Then you just push it in the correct hole and it will "snap" in.

Man, I missed this and didn't notice the tab and ripped the wires out of the little metal clip.

Now I have to go to the parts store and see what I can get to fix it. I was so close and get this done. Bummer!

Well I checked 3 stores and I found something that was close, but I don't think it would work.  Has anyone had to replace one of these?  If so where did you get a replacement?

Also, since I had to restrip the blue wires they are a little short now.  Does anyone know what guage wire it is so I can add a little bit to it...once I find a replacement piece?

Thanks!

Well my saga still continues, the piece I bought yesterday didn't work.  So I guess unless I can actually find the exact piece, I might have to make this one work.

I'm still trying to figure out what guage wire that is so I can extend it. So if anyone knows, please chime in. It's the wire that I had to move down 1 slot.

Thanks!

Maybe pry back the tabs that are holding in the old wire and insert new.
Or:
You could try soldering a new peice on.

I think it is about 18gauge wire. I would just try to solder that peice back on first. I would put on a replacement battery terminal though.

NFNY

It seems to not wanna pry open because they don't appear to be tabs.  It's almost like a tunnel and once the wires were inserted and they are clamped, that is it.

It looked like 18 guage and that is what I'm going to try.  Not sure what I would solder because the only thing that happened was the wire came out of this piece.

Wish me luck cause I'm going to see what I can do right now.  Thanks!

No soldering, what I did was I stuck the new stripped wires into the little clip then folded the tabs down and wrapped some electrical tape around it to make sure they stay there. It's hard to explain but you get the jist of it.

It's funny since I already tried it once and knew how it all came apart this mod actually took no more than 15-20 minutes start to finish.

Check your bulbs first. Is it turning on at all? I would check the same wire that the other guy had a problem with.Let us know.

Yeah I was driving around with no ambers for awhile since the double blue wires were not connected.  Just do what OA said and check the bulbs first since it's the quickest, than check the wire since those are really the only two things you've touched right?

Huh??, what the heck...  It stopped raining, so, this AM got the tools out and took it apart.   Looked like it was ok, but pulled it apart and put it back together.  Checked, working fine.   warpped it up with everything together. turned switch on and nothing....  dark so head lights were on. Well dang.................

Took  it apart and when i lifted the fuse block they came on. (Yeah, I know, shoulda disconnected the battrey) something is loose but dang if i can figure it.

They are working as of now. On the road next week,  see what happens during this trip..

Thanks for all the help..

Whew,

What a problem this turned out to be,  running along and the drls are on, can see them on the vehicle ahead of me, pass a car and next time they are off.  then on, then off.

pulled it apart and 2nd, and 3rd, time, nothing at all wrong.  NOTHING.  dang it.

so took it apart one more time looking closely at parts as I go..  wouldnt you know the receiver, that you pull out and move, is oversize,  grab a awl and move the metal to tighten the connection point and ,VOILA, no more problems at all.  now they are on all the time and I am Happy..

thanks for all the help guys,  this is the greatest site I have ever visited.
