You might get away with removing the pinstripe and buffing it out. They make a rubber wheel for removing decals that does a good job.

Hi Jenifer, glad to have you aboard, welcome to the club.  As far as a pinstripe guy, good lord its been so long the ones I knew from years ago have all passed, lol.   However you can take them off yourself with a hair dryer or heat gun ,just be careful, then aftewards use some gummy stuff like goof off or the like to remove any risidual glue.  Yes find a inconspicuous spot to try the remover on first, you might be surprised about the matching and like it without pinstripes!  Your husband is an awesome man and we thank him for his service in this time of uncertainty.   Hope to see you at a GTG soon.
