First off, I would like to thank Mike(Kodiakz) for all his help. He has a wealth of knowledge and couldnt have done it without him. He has good tricks on wiring. Well this hace been in a little while but havent had time to take pictures.
First off the DVD is a Directed brand with memory. Please if yo do anything buy a DVD with Memory. The movie starts where it left off when you shut off the vehicle for any reason. I started off with a Vizualogic unit and sent it back because it did not have this feature.
I also purchased the Vizualogic headrest monitors and FM Modulator from Mike so the kids could listen to movies thru the rear audio connections. This works out pretty well but not perfect. One thing you have to do every time is turn down the audio output from the DVD player other wise your audio will be real staticky. I have the FM Modualtor to its lowest setting to guard against this as well. Overall I am very pleased with the setup. It took about five hours for two of us to install it. Kind of tricky feeding the wire down thru the seats for the monitor and getting the correct power wire for the DVD. If you have any questions please ask I learned a lot doing this. Also keep a wire coat hanger handy you will need it to fish all the wires thru everything in the dash and seats.

I put the FM Modulator, DVD, and monitor hardware under the center console cupholder. There is a ton of space here.

Hey 03BlackAv, that is nice! I am curious, does your DEI unit support SVCD. I have worked with Mike as well. Vis unit currently in my 02 Av, put it in the cubby above the "cd holder" in the front dash. Took some modding to do, but fits in there ok. I have had run around with Vis and they finally issued me an RMA, cause their stuff says that it supports SVCD, but the audio and video get out of sync real darn quick. Mike says that he sees the problem with the DEI 2000 unit as well, so I am curious about the DEI 2005. Mike is going to look into it for me. Do you use the TV tuner on your unit at all? Did you run the FM modulator antenae up through the roof? I have the Vis FM modulator unit. Took me about 10 hours doing the system myself to get what I wanted pretty well. Will post some pics one of these days. Great job!

Thanks fro the compliments everyone. To answer your question Mike, no it doesnt sound very good. My daughter is always complaining that it is staticky. Certain sounds come through as static. Kind of like if your FM channel is quite tuned in properly. Everything is turned down to the minimum though there isnt anyhting else I can do is there?
jobthedog, sorry I dont have any answers for you I'm not sure what format is supported. My Directed DVD doesnt have a built in Tuner so I cant answer that question either. As far as the modulator, no I didnt run anything through the roof. All that does is pick up the the channel from the radio so its not picking up an outside signal as far as I know.

The original Vizualogic DVD I had ran through headphones. I would suggest buying some headphones with a long chord though because it has to come up through the seats. We kept on pulling them out the back of the player. The Vizualogic player did not have memory as well. Also you would have to switch the headphones back and forth between the rear audio and DVD or have four headphones. It's much easier to use FM Modualtion. Plus if I wanted to I can listen to that channel over the main speakers. I dont know why I would do that though.
