PAC includes it on their aux audio harnesses, so it can be had. Perhaps you can order one of those from JP Customs or ? (It depends on her accessories as to which unit to use, gm-12 or gm24)

One of these companies has the shell, I just never ordered one! (Just the terminals)

Does anyone have an idea what this nav is from?? its part number 10329193B. It looks like a standard INR but i was puzzled by the part number. Maybe just another revision?

Steve- Do you know where I can get (part number??) a package of the pins for the amp/head unit plugs?? I need a couple to add the Audiopilot noise-compensation mic. Am I going to need a special pin extracter or will a screwdriver do a neat enough job? Lastly, I just won an Escalade console on ebay (i saw a 'buy-it-now' price i could not pass up Grin)... Anything special I will need to do? I assume the wiring harnesses are all the same so the truck will plug right into the new console. Other than blocking off the HVAC duct (that used to go to the rear pass. vents), is there anything special I will need to do?  thanks

The 24-pin connector terminals are 12089649 @.88 ea in a 10/bag @$8.80 (Average dealer price) Normally available from a dealer but they'll usually need to order them. (2~3 days is normal.)

This # is for the C2 on the amp, (if I remember goofy) 15359541. However they come as a 25-bag only.
AND, you have to get them from SPX-Kent Moore. They are called: "Delphi .64 connector terminals" from a kit's Tray #4.

(They're about $16 to $17 for the bag.)

They'll fit a few other connectors too.
--------------------------------------------------
As for that HU, I don't have that on any list..
Pendulm may know, PM him.. Are you sure that isn't an "8"?

If you are talking about the one on eBay, I ended up buying it. I just posted a separate thread about this HU. I was puzzled about the P/N myself, it doesn't run through GM Parts Direct (that's no surprise though) but the label shows 04 INR GMT257 which is for a Buick Rendezvous. As far as I can tell, the Rendezvous is NOT offered with a Bose amp at all. (At least I hope not!)

Okay, I think I have all the parts needed to upgrade the downgraded factory Nav system in my 04 Envoy. Anyone care to tell me what I've forgotten? :-)

Lux Amp #15177435
Lux-Nav #15204335
C3 connector except no place to plug it into above amp.
Mic for Amp #25705367 if needed
Current wiring schematics for crap amp (vehicle specfic)
Wiring schematics for Class II amp (vehicle specfic)
6 pack beer if I succed.
Tissues if I fail.

All I need now is a contact phone number from one of the board's premeire troubleshooters :-)

The Envoy uses a different amp! Actually both types. That's why you have a "floating" C3.

If the GMT800 amp type will physically fit, you will need to carefully track the wire connection changes. The wires in connector 3 of an Envoy needs to be fit into the other connector 1. If I remember, the Mic wires and data line.

Then, you need to carefully draw up your own chart from the Envoy prints posted earlier in this topic, to the Class II amp wiring side, found on the downloadable X-Ref chart.

`Hope that amp works in there!

Since you have the connector 3, perhaps it would be better that you find an Envoy class II amp or purchase a new one! then rewire to it instead.

The radio side isn't much different than you see here.
Maybe some RSA differences.

Good luck!

Sorry `bout the delay on this part of your question. Finally catchin' up on some of those...

A tiny screwdriver will work fine, Ben. Just poke into the larger hole and move/work the tab over..

As far as the console goes, I imagine it just depends on how complete it is! I don't know how well it'll match-up with your dash either..
But if you fit it, maybe post some pic's!  (Does the color match?)

Ah ok thanks for the screwdriver trick... The console shipped a few days ago..should arrive at home today. Of course im still at school so I may  not get around to actually installing it until the end of may when I get out for the summer.. The console is out of a 2003 Escalade and is fully complete. Everything is included: full harness, lux amp (haha so now I actually own 3 lux amps! ), Bose sub, RSA, cd changer, Bvlgari clock, the whole deal. It was a great price and luckilly matches my tan/neutral interior; so I dont have to worry about dying anything. I assume Cadillac's "pewter" or "shale" (whatever they call it) interior is identical to Chevy's "tan/neutral". The General is so doggone confusing with color selections!!!! banghead (and whos bright idea was it to use a tan headliner with charcoal seats???!! Roll Eyes sorry...im getting off topic)

But....basically Im assuming the Escalade console should just drop right into the Silvy. Will all the wiring harnesses plug up correctly? The ONLY thing that im curious/worried about is that the tranny hump in my floor is differently shaped to accomodate the ginormous Allison!! But when i pulled my console apart once to get a look around, all the parts just had stickers that said "GMT-800, tan, etc...". AND the console in my dad's 2003 Tahoe was marked identically...so that gives me some relief. Tongue Ill probably have more questions when I actually get around to installing it! Thanks again everyone...sorry for the long post (again) Roll Eyes

------ben

PS-- ill post pics when the console arrives

Tan/neutral and shale/charcoal are different. If you have the charcoal you still get tan/neurral in other parts, like the headliner..
But it doesn't match well as a console of another color...  hurl

Regarding the wiring, you may have a few "Hmmmm, where does this go" wires, but at least you have the OEM harness for the amp.

The barfvgari clock is a one-wire connect.

The barfvgari clock

haha...when I work this summer and recover from the cost of the TNR etc I will probly replace that thing with the Denali trim (i personally like it better than the Escalade trim)

I am still a bit confused about the General's coloring schemes tho... I have yet to see the console in person (it hasnt arrived yet). Is there more than one variant of the "tan"Huh Here is a pic from the ebay auction of it:

It does look nice, but if I remember, the Denali's didn't dip down so much.. Hmmm `I'll need to take another look at them.

I know the 2002 Denali console's did not dip down so much...Here is a pic of a 2003 (and up) Denali console... If GM uses a different shade tan for the Escalades than they do for the Silverados, I am going to scream!! banghead

Hi Sperry,

I am wanting to install a GM DVD Navigation system in my new Chevy SSR, once it arrives.  Can you believe that option is not offered?  It should be here in a couple months, if I order it.  Or, I,m thinking of buying one off the lot, since it has everything I want on it.  I get the GM employee discount either way.  I installed one on my Sierra Denali (with your expert help), and that one was plug-and-play.  I am wanting to do the same thing on my SSR.  I talked to JP Customs, and he thinks that it should work, although he hasn't had one to try it on.  Do you have any idea if it would be possible?

Thanks,

TRex chevy

First, the possibility is that it may have a CAN-Bus system (GM-LAN). Then, no. At least not with some yet unknown adapters...

`Need to check that!

`Better have the salesman recheck that:
Here's a cut & paste of the SI screen for the SSR page:

Ahh, good point, Steve...I did not think about that fact that it may use the new GM-LAN. Although one thing that jumped to mind when i read trex's post...I know for a fact that the SSR uses Bose's "Audiopilot" noise compensation technology. SO i would be willing to bet that the SSR may use a LUX variant of the Bose system versus a Premium Bose system.

Where do I get a copy of the cut & paste of the SI screen for the SSR page?

Would I need to verify that it has a Y91 amp?  I am wanting to just buy JP Custom's unit, thinking that it may ease my pain in installing it.

A $900/year subscription!

From what it appears, no other area shows the Nav.
Also interesting, they still dont offer XM!

Found something VERY interesting... A class II amp in the "Premium" audio system,
with a class II connection and a noise-cancelling mic!

Likely for the purpose of the noise compensation (Bose Audiopilot).

You may just be in luck!

It does not appear to be a GM-Lan system, unless it's "hybrid"/both.

Weird...

Hi DuramaxHD,

Are you saying that because the SSR has the LUX variant of the Bose system, I may not be able to install the TNR Navigation? Embarrassed

If I said "In Luck" what would you think..?

10377531...! Find someone that'll work with you on this... You may not need the "lux" amp. the one you have apparently is; it's just called "premium" in your truck..

Until things are sorted out better as to what they're doing. I can only speculate.

There is a base version system, you may not want that one..

You are the man, Sperry  Grin Grin thumbs_up Grin Grin

Would this pretty much be plug-n-play, or would there be a lot of re-wiring?  What about the noise cancelling mic,  would I need one?  I can handle the gps antenna with no sweat.

If I decided to install a XM radio module, is that something that just plugs into the back of the navigation HU?

Thanks Sperry,

Your knowledge base is unbelieveable.  I am sure that there is nobody at GM that could hang in there with you on this subject.
