The earlier AV deal didn't workout as I was little late.  banghead

Need the GMID price for;

PARADISE CHEVROLET CADILLAC
27360 YNEZ RD, TEMECULA, CA 92591

2005 Avalanche 1500 4WD Z71
VIN: 3GNEK12Z45G256959
Exterior: Victory Red
Interior: Gray/dark Charcoal
MSRP:* $43,005.00

For some reason the rebate the dealer is giving $2500 + $1000 (HOt Button) where as I think the rebate for westen region is $3000 + $1000 (HOt Button) is the dealer right??

Thanx!!

I know this discussion ended long ago, and there might be a better place for this post (please tell me if there is), but someone mentioned paying taxes on the discount and I wanted to clear that up.
For the GMID there is no tax penalty (that I know of) for the referring employee.  However, if you're a "GM Employee" there is.  Or at least for people like me that don't work directly for GM, but are considered pseudo GM Employees and are eligible for GMS pricing...
Here's a post from my companies web site on the taxes.  I work for EDS, so you'll see it referenced, but we're considered GM Employees.  Maybe if you work directly for GM this doesn't apply???

Taxable Benefit

Last Updated 09 Sep 2004

For U.S. employees, the use of the discount on purchased and leased vehicles is deemed a taxable fringe benefit and five percent of the MSRP is subject to U.S. federal withholding, FICA, Medicare, and, where applicable, state and city tax withholdings.

For eligible employees, EDS will withhold applicable deductions over four consecutive pay periods following notification of the purchase of the vehicle. The amount equal to five percent of the MSRP will reflect in the employee's taxable income as reported on the annual W-2 Form.

For eligible family members of the employee, purchases will be considered a taxable fringe benefit to the eligible employee and appropriate withholding will be made from the employee's paycheck as stated above.

For eligible family members of retired and surviving spouses, purchases will be considered a taxable fringe benefit to the retiree or surviving spouse. The retiree or surviving spouse will receive a Form 1099 reporting the taxable benefit.

The following table shows an example of how the tax is calculated. Additional information can be found in the Questions & Answers section.

Sample MSRP of $30,000.00 Vehicle MSRP and Factory-installed
Options (excluding Destination Charge)  $30,000.00
(sample MSRP)
5% Amount is taxable  $1,500.00
Employee Gift Amount per check
($1,500/4 pay periods)  $375.00

Supplemental Tax @ 25% $93.75
FICA/Medicare @ 7.65%  $28.69
State Taxes (where applicable)  $0.00
City Taxes (where applicable  $0.00
Taxes per paycheck
(4 consecutive paychecks)

Total Taxes
(previous amount for 4 checks)  $122.44

I never have heard of that! I have NEVER paid taxes on any GM benefits except the legal benefit that I never use, and everyone pays a small amount on it. It may be another case of "give a tax brake to get re-elected" and then get it back anyway that they can!

I will NOT be giving any of my family any of these GMS discounts if I have to pay tax on them! And what about the GM in the Drive program, are they going to tax us on that one to? banghead

I have to agree with Intimidatoruag on this one.  Just bought a 2006 AV using my Supplier Pricing (I work for 3M) and I compared my price vs the GM Employee pricing.  The difference on my truck (MSRP = $42,800) was under $1,500 (seems like $1,3XX but not sure).

MrOutdoorsie, My brother works for EDS as well and I believe that he has only had to pay taxes on the  benefit/discount since they seperated from GM. I don't know if it matters but he was living overseas when we bought the last couple rounds of cars.

I work for a GM dealer.  There were no additional taxes for me to pay.  Several other employees has also purchased GM cars with their employee discounts too. Once contracts were signed that was the end of it.  Got my w-2 and nothing is reflected there.  Maybe it is different in each state or it may be different when you buy direct from GM not a dealer.

I'm looking for a little help clarifying the GMS pricing.  I've been trying to do as much research here on the 07 Avalanche as I can, and this forum has been an awesome help!  My problem seems to be with the dealers here is Phoenix.  Of the 3 different salesmen, I got 3 totally differnt explainations of GMS pricing.
1 guy says its the same as dealer invoice.
2nd guy says its 5% below MSRP.
3rd guy says it depends on what level of GMS (3 levels) I am eligible for.

I feel like either no one is being honest w/ me or they are just stupid! banghead

I ask because my uncle who worked for GM for years passed away and my aunt is able to get me an Auth. # for the pricing, but, she is getting older now and has almost no clue about how the pricing works either (god bless her)!!  I'm really just after a ballpark number here, I hate to go thru all the steps to getting the GMS pricing and find out that the Aval. is out of my budget!!   Thanks For The Help!!

I'm looking at this vehicle here:
Sands Motor Co., Glendale, AZ 85301
2007 LT1 2WD
Vin# 3GNEC12J37G126262
Graystone Metallic
MSRP: $34,959
