I had my nav unit install and unlocked by the dealer,  07 Avy.  The sound was very low, I ordered the GM1416 from JP Customs since my Avy was a non-bose unit.  Got an Alpine 4 channel amp. hooked up the amp and got now sound now.  So unhooked the amp and no I get no sound from the Nav unit at all.  Used to get very low sound,  Did the amp install damage the Nav unit.  Or is this a quick fix like get it reprogammed.  Like worried that It damaged my Nav Unit.  I called JP Custom and they are sending out a new GM1416 harness.  But a little weird that I had a little sound and now NO SOUND at all.  Please help.

How does the amp hook up?  Is this adapter a high to low output adapter to go between the radio and the amp?  (speaker wire in and RCA low out to amp?)

Hey Tweek,  I bought the GM1416 Pac from JP Customs, this should have been a very simple install.  What a nightmare!  Anyways dont know the answer to your question.   I guess your install went well.  Funny thing is I had sound very low sound, but now nothing, and even when I unhooked everything including the harness from JP Customs.

I just did the upgrade from Bose Prem to Bose Lux, when the tech hit it with the tech II he also "turned the speakers on" and that made a helluva difference. Did you run new wires for the amp or use the factory harness? I think it may be in the control part of the h/u talking to the amp.

So what do I need to do, to get the sound back??  I just test with me old HU, and sound was on, then I plugged in the PAC GM1416 and tap the speaker wires to the amp and lost sound..   Now my old HU has no sound also.  everything is unplugged and put back to stock and the old HU sound is out.   You think the HU units are now damage?  I didnt blow any fuses!

Well my past with installs i have blown a single audio chanel but never all 4 at once,    also do you have a extra speaker you can hook up to test the audio channels one at a time?  the sterio may auto detect the amp.  I am thinking you may want to see if the dealer can try to check the programing on the Head unit.
