If any of yall have been overseas long enough than im sure you know where this is going.............

Just received my AV from the shippers a few days ago and my SES light came on and i was hearing and feeling some pretty wild engine/exhaust noises. I called USAA to have a field appraiser come and check out my AV to have a look at this as well as another claim i have from shipment damage. We got it into the local GM shop in Homburg, and i recieved a call late yesterday, the verdict...........

a wild frettchen (ferret) decided to make a snack of my elctrical system. banghead
***on a brighter note i was given a Mercedes C180 to zip around in, untill the AV is fixed.***
this is the secound vehicle that my little ferret friends have sabotaged, neddless to say i am anti-ferret

That’s a good shop you went to so I trust their verdict.  My buddy just bought a 05 Chevy Equinox and the same thing happened.

Did you have them put the electronic thingy in there so it wont happen again.

i have also heard good things about that shop.  I havent got the Av back yet so i will call and ask them about the device. I have also been told by some folks at work that there is a spray you can buy, and one guy said he put a clump of cat hair in a sock and tied it some where under the hood.

I think is around 200 euros for the device…the cat and sock thing might be a better option….now just to find that willing cat  Big laughter with tears Just kidding

I think i will just drop the 200E on the device (as im violently allergic to cats)
Plus im not sure how i would go about the wording for a  "Cat hair in a sock" mod

You’re right!  That could be tricky.  Let me know what they tell you.  BTW, you speak fluent German?  Sprechen Sie fließendes Deutsches something like that.

Awww... what's not to love about cute little ferrets?  love

(Having the GF's ferret living with me - I can completely understand the problems you're having with them. The little guys get into everything.)

I suppose i am conversationally fluent, my wife says i sound like a 5yr old. I usually just listen to whats going on around me, but of course the more Cheers! the more fluent i am. I found that to be the case with almost all Germans as well, a little "social lubricant" and you find out the know more english thanthey may have led you to believe.

david-

From what im to understand they are a very popular pet in america, and can be a lot of fun. Most germans would think we are crazy though as most consider them to be a pest, as they are wild here. As far as im concerned the only thing that would make your ferret picture better would be some CROSS-HAIRS Cheesy

Can't that the truth!

Reason I ask…is If you wouldn’t mind asking them if they would like to do something for a few AV’s dropping by their store.  Maybe some freebies.  I’m not sure if I would have the time when I get home to coord on this before the Hooters GTG.

Just explain the club to him and see what they think Huh

They make decent pets but can be a pest. When their little mind is set on destruction nothing can get in their way.

Ours also has a fetish for biting feet/toes. Can be sitting down playing on the computer and the little b*****d sneaks up on ya and bites down on your foot. They got some sharp pointy teeth too.

Also likes cell phones, remote controls and car keys. If it gets ahold of any of them it'll hide them somewhere you'll never find them.

I figure if I can put up with this little guy, having a 2 year old kid will be easy.

I have 2 little rugrats/ankle biters, kids that is...they're Gods gift and i wouldnt trade them for the world. However, I have cleaned up more messes and spent more time on the inside of my AV because of my little ANGELS. So i guess this Ferret incident is'nt so terrible, untill he starts makeing child size damage/messes

Not officially.  Ray, the GM at New Car Sales, has given me a few things for the guys.  I helped him out at the car show so he returned the love.  He also told me that he would sponsor a burger burn and we could setup in the court yard at Vogelweh.  He just asks we have about 5 or 6 AVs there all day.  This is something I’ll start working for the summer of 06.  I’m also going to be working the Cars for the Stars car show again.  Check out the pictures on our board.

keeping a ferret as a pet is almost as bizzare as keeping a rabbit.

No offense, JMO.

What could think a mechanic at workshop when he lifts the hood and finds a sock ,with cat hair in, tied on it? Huh

Incognito-

correct me if im wrong, but thats the guy from ELMO....if so you say hes dead as in not alive or dead as in his career....just curious, one of my daughters has some old elmo DVDs and i see that guy alot.

Machrychar-

Im sure i would get some crazy looks from the mechanic. This morning my German Field appraiser who works for USAA told me a new one....... He said that many people use the "Urinal Mint" (big round red or blue toilet bowl deodorizer), they hang it in their engine compartment, apparently this is also very effective.

I may be wrong, but I thought GM pulled out of AAFES sales at the end of the year.  I think all you'll find at New Car Sales are Ford and Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep.

That’s what I heard.  But he still has a lot of Chevy stuff and is still willing to let us park the AV’s on the lot to show them off.

My Equinox got eaten by a ferret too.  Little ba$tard ate the #1 and #3 spark plug wires.  I used the dog hair in a bag trick.  Worked so far.

My buddy got luck the other day.  He was driving to Austria when he went to clean the road grim off the window, nothing came out.  Got back home and found out that the little monster ate his hoses.  The reason he is lucky is because they didn’t eat the electrical.
