Yeah, I looked at that, but it shows 10 connections and there are twelve pins.  Without the stub of the harness, I don't know which end is up??

This is a frustrating mod 'cause there are two different diagrams and without the harness stub I'm flying blind.  I don't want to power anything up and have the wires in the wrong place.  Thanks!!  Thumbs up!

Ok, I think I've got the answer to the mounting space problem.  I took the guts out of the heads up case, and eliminated the two-mirror reflector situation.  I understand why it's there, to give the HUD the ability to adapt to different height drivers and to enlarge the display with the convex mirror in the back of the case.  Nobody else drives my truck, so I'm going to make the display stationary for my height, and I'm trying to find a glass or plastic lens to enlarge the display externally.

That said, the HUD is now a tiny little circuit board and display unit, which sould be able to be mounted completely below the line of the dash, directly behind the IPC.  That bracket that takes up space behind the IPC only supports the dash cover, so that's going to become my mounting bracket.  Once I get the alignment correct, I'll make a cardboard template and find out the location to make the "hole" in the dash cover.  The only problem I've run into so far was finding a connection to the ignition 3 voltage, which ItsStopher was so kind as to point me to, and the darned HUD unit was out of a Buick Rendezvous, so when it powers up it says 'Buick" on the windshield briefly.

When mine powered up it said GP, I think you will have to have a tech 2 to reinitialize it.

Ok, got the HUD installed today and got everything put back together.  I removed the dash top support bracket, and just screwed the HUD to the plastic duct for the left a/c vent.  The HUD layed on it perfectly and I used (2) 1 inch long sheet metal screws to secure it.  I put the circuit board into a plastic project case, and wrapped it with the soft part of some velcro.  The case now acts as the support for the dash.

Now it's time to make "The Hole".  I mad a cardboard template with a hole big enough for the image to project through, and took a couple of measurements.  Then I transferred the dimension to the top of the dash cover, and drilled some 3/4" holes with a hole saw.  I connected the dots with a hack saw blade, then used a file to get the hole "lookin good".

I cut a piece of the clear plastic sheeting from the original case of the HUD and Duct taped it underneath the dash cover.  I know it looks a little funny, but you can't tell from the top.  The sun was at a funny angle, and I couldn't get the camera to give a clear picture of the actual display on the windshield, but it DOES WORK!    love
