Purchased in Nov 01.  140K with plans for 200K+.    No real performance problems, Drive train in great shape and it runs flawless (I'd say good luck but good maintenance pays off- product of this forum).  Just started fighting the midgate water leak problem (first time in 7 years of operation).

Count me in as an original owner of a Lanch 02 bought in Oct 01.  The day it arrived I had my daughter come over to look at it.  The next day, we bought her one also. We both still have 'em. Mine has 72,000+ miles now. The reason it's low is because, I drive my 66 and 67 GTO's to work.  But, the Lanch still looks and runs GREAT!  The only real problem I've had is with the speakers in the driver's door. I've gone through 3 speakers.  Now the thing keeps cutting off and on?  Must be a loose wire somewhere's? Oh, yeah had to buy a new set of tires! Dammit!!!

Count me as an original owner 2002 Ave 4wd 5.3liter Z71. 110,000 miles.
No problems at all till recently.
I drove it from MN to Cabo, Mexico (3000 mile trip...no problems!)
It is garaged there for use when I vacation.

I posted on a different thread about my engine missing without killing.

I also have a 2007 Suburban and the interior noise is miniscule on the Avalanche compared to my suburban.

Hey i just bought my first Avalanche about a month ago, 2002 z71 4x4 1500   I.m not sure why, but this truck is almost mint  inside ,outside,
underneath  Thumbs up!  its got 130,000 miles on her. as if somebody drove it none stop and then just parked it indoors..wierd eh
but i love the ave  drain plugs everywhere rear axle, tranny, i think the 2002 ;s are the best ones out there..Clading grey some say the trucks butt ugly but they don;t drive one .You could not ask for a better truck that does everything and does it well. the clading stops rust on the outside parking lot dings,  and when your out 4 wheeling. when i picked up mine i changed all fluids twice over a period of a month ,redid the brakes, rotors even those (pita) emergency brake pads, changed the shocks to monroe reflex, and i installed new bf goodrich all-terains...The interior is mint clean  leather seats heated, sunroof and best of all   everything works   I worked at the motors for 30 yrs and these trucks are the best thing they ever built, ya the truck is 7 yrs old but it has no rattles  Avalanches are great!!

VERY IMPRESSIVE REPORT.

First Av was a 2002 1500, purchased in January of 2002.  Summit White with 6" lift and 35" tires.  Had 114,000 miles as of today.  LOVE the truck and had a hard time  with the decision to trade her in.  However, just traded her for another 2002 Avalanche but 2500 Series.  Victory Red, stock, no lift.....YET.  It ony has 62,000 miles.  Plans are for a 6" lift, Ram air/Cowl hood, and some chrome accents.

I have had mine for 108k, it now has 150k. I have done the shocks, brakes and Knock sensors. The most expensive was the fuel pump and I did the labor so it was $150.00. I have replaced other things but not because I needed to. I am extremely happy with my Av and would not trade it for anything.

I've been looking at Camaros, and I like the yellow color the best.  Did you get the V-6 or the V-8?  They say you can get 29 MPG highway in the V-6, and I've got to drive a lot of miles on my commute.  But the V-8 is very ballsy.  My cousin just got an orange SS.  I sat in it but did not drive it.  I wonder if I can get down into the Camaro seats every day!  That car is low to the ground.

Just tell him to be gentle.    Big laughter with tears

I still have my '02, since 9-8-01.  About 135,000 on her and going strong.  But she will probably be losing some weight this next year, I think the Procharger will be hitting the classifieds to raise money for Ram mods.  The Ram pulls the trailer better but needs some beauty aids.  The AV will be working around town in semi-retirement.   Thumbs up!
