Had mine done through my dealer in Victoria  late 2006. I had to  really convince them to look/search for the TSB and gave them the name/number for the Gatorback company. My Avy was sent to a body shop to do the work, but it  took them ONE WEEK to get it done. The shop didn't know what they were doing and it took a long time, but it was finally done. The dealer gave me a rental car (paid by GM) for three days and then later one of their service trucks for the remainder of the week. I have the extended warranty up to 100,000km.

I was very persistent with my dealer. They know me very well there as the customer who cares/knows  more about Avalanches in general than they do Wink However, it's all thanks to this site. I've used this site and it's threads many times to show them how the U.S. are doing and why they were not.

Had mine done in the Toronto area this past summer.  Dealer had not heard about it and never done one.  I gave them the TSB, they called in the DSM, he approved and I was done in a couple days.   They did my 06 in the black rather than the gray and I have to say it looked much better.

I have to ask if anyone has a part number or something for gatorback?  i went to 4 automotive paint supplyers today looking for something that would work and nothing so i broke down and went to the gm dealership who has a colission center there and they've never heard of anything along this line...there thinking i'm looking for some kind of wax  or silicon based material.

You can order it directly from the gatorback web site.   If you want the dealer info, they have the TSB posted on their web page which you can hand to the dealer.

It looks good, but tends to run down the paint after a good rain and then looks like crap.  I recently came across a product by Stoner (they make a good glass cleaner), and they now have a trim shine.  Wash the truck, spray on, and leave it.   Looks amazing.

Hey SWALT! I'm in Peterborough and I've been wondering where I can get mine GB'd? Whereabouts in Toronto did you have it done and how much did it cost?

I know this may be a little off topic however I got some Refinsh Restorer from a local Car Quest Auto Parts and put it on my cladding. It looks great!!! It has been on for months now and its still looks like new. It brings the finish and colour to look like new again and it seems to last and does not run. A can runs about $30.00 and you should put 2 coats on for the initial apply. All you do is put some on a cloth and rub it on and let it dry.
For $30.00 the can will last a very long time and it stands up real well.

I had mine done at a dealer in Brampton, but they have since closed up.   They had never heard of it before, but once I provided them the TSB from the Gatorback site, they took that and did everything under warranty.
