Very easy to remove if it is a Pre-2007 model.  I have not tried to remove one from a 2007+ Avy.
I painted mine with Rustolium Gloss Black with 4 thin coats and it looks real good.

I'm not sure, it was on there when I bought it. I had to pull the cover off and re-vamp the brackets that hold it all on though. It was a real hack job and they had it installed about 1-1/2" too high!!! I did some customizing to the brackets and got it to fit real nice now.

I'm gonna pull the stainless rock guards off the very rear of the box so it looks more "symmetrical". Plus I have to fix a couple dings on the driver rear lower box side, so I'll have to remove that trim anyway.
