I have noticed that there are a few guys here in the Las Vegas area that get togather for trail rides. My 07 AV is only 2 wheel drive but I have a 05 wrangler that I would love to get dirty again. I have hit a few trailes, but I am new to the area and dont know the trails that well.

I ran the trail that breaks off from Red Rock canyon and goes over the mountian pass. Ran it alone, dumb! dumb! dumb! banghead

Let me know if anyone is interested

Welcome to the Nevada club Welcome! and CAFCNA. Our next GTG will probably be Laughlin at the end of January. However we may get together for some MOD's or to just hang out and chat.
I will get you added to our e-mail list.

What part of Vegas are you in?

 Welcome!
Welcome rock wrangler.
I also have a 2wd and have done some mild off-road. Best to explore new area with a buddy w/4wd. Be sure to have a recovery strap. When alone I stay to marked gravel or dirt roads common on maps or aero maps.

I was in Brookings......attending SDSU!  I made many, many trips to Deadwood.  I think Cadillac Jacks probably had enough of my money to buy a new AV!  Always a good time at Terry Peak!  I would really like to go to the range on Monday, I bought a new S&W M&P 40 about a month before I moved and have only fired 400 rounds through it.  Unfortunately, with just starting a new job, I don't think missing work would go over too well.....unless you will still be there around 4:30!  I will try to make the 3rd for sure, I'll have to Map Quest it though!

terry peak is where I worked until coming here. the weather is a little more predictable here anyway.  gold dust is the one with all my money but I'm going to get it all back next month.

well welcome to the club and we will see you at the next gtg!

Welcome TheKid.   Welcome!

You and your wife are more than welcome to join in on whatever we plan in the future.  Next Saturday there is a BBQ/pool party for John and Konnies going away party.  Hopefully we get to see you there.  I will be there with my wife and daughter, but don't let that scare you away.    Big laughter with tears

You still have 2 weeks to plan vacation for the National GTG in Rapid City, SD.   Cool!

Where are you from?

What part of Las Vegas area do you live in?

You can email me at american-made@embarqmail.com if you would like.

Oh, and if you get a chance go into your profile and add your AV info into the signature so we can see what you have in the bottom of your posts.

Ok...
I did my signature. Not fancy, that's just what I have.
I'm currently undecided on this Saturday's GTG. For now, I work on LA and live in Vegas so, personal time with my wifey is at a premium.

To answer a couple of questions posed...
I was born and raised in LA. Seven years ago, my wife and I decided to move to Virginia (she's from there). It didn't work...we hated it. We wanted to come back west...but not as far as CA. We decided on LV...we love it. We bought a house and moved here just over a year ago. We're near Tropicana and Sandhill in the SE portion of this fine city.

Thank you all for welcoming us... Wave
Now back to the thread at hand.

(PS...when do we get some trigger time in?) Cool!

Ok...
I did my signature. Not fancy, that's just what I have.

(PS...when do we get some trigger time in?) Cool!

Your sig is fine, until we get you modding.  At which time you can add more info to it.

Trigger time?  Now I know why you didn't want to live in California.  With John leaving I guess I need to sign up for membership at the Boulder City range.  Normally my best days to get out are Mondays, but I am guessing you work Monday through Friday so I guess we would be looking at Saturdays.  For me that will have to wait until after Nationals, probably the beginning of August sometime.

Hmmmm, he lives close enough to stop by for a quick hello and welcome in between the personal time.

Don't ya think?

When your wife brigs up the subject about meeting psychos off the internet you can reassure her that our wives said the same thing while we brought them along kicking and screaming.   Big laughter with tears

Funny...
Mrs. TheKid and I have had deep discussions about meeting "internet folk". We're usually pretty good about getting a "feel" for people...so we're not worried AND we're planning on being there on Saturday.
Trigger time will happen when it happens...hopefully I can find a position that is actually IN Vegas...I'm praying and crossing my fingers.

Again, thanks for the invite, I think we're bringing cole slaw and cookies...we'll see...
Also...do you need anything else? Coolers? an easy-up to keep the sun away? let me know.

(do the neighbors freak out with all the Av's parked outside?)

Burnout contests?  Will those be on the concrete driveway or on the asphalt street?  I will need to know so I can properly tune my computer.

Big laughter with tears I would add all that to the profile lol if I could figure out how. I will just tell you. I trades my 06 with 10,000 miles on it an LT 2wd victory red in on a new Black one 4wd with a pro comp lift. I think it is the LTZ but on this part I am not sure lol. I never paid attention I do know that it made the 06 seem rather bland lol. I will go get the book out of it tomorrow and find out what it is. I just saw it on the lot and had to have it.

For the profile info you can update it simple.

On this thread, in a post you made, click on your name (on the left side of the post) and you will get to another screen with you info.  Click on the part where it says update your information, one says account info ( i think) and the other one just below it is the one I think you want.  It will get you to another screen where you can add and change information.  when you add the info click on the box at the bottom that says save or update and BAM, you are done.  (or something like that)

Are we going to meet up and run to Laughlin from Las Vegas together ? Or just meet up down there ? When will we get the details of the planned run ? I would love to get many more to go and am on it lol. I can just picture a long string of Avalanches going down the road together. What a nice picture it is too.

I have a question here. I spoke to the Chevy dealers and they are willing to help us to gather new members here in Southern Nevada. I can print up some flyer's to hand out to new Avalanche buyers at the dealerships and to ones bringing theirs in for service. The dealers here were unaware that a club even existed so is this ok to do or a violation. I can have ones interested in going to Laughlin email me or come here and sign up but need to know if it is acceptable. Let me know and if it is a go I am so on it

Welcome! Anchored.   Wave  Glad that you found us.  We sure can offer some info and ideas on modding your AV.  Tells us... (hmmm maybe i should have looked closer before I replied...oh well)  tell us what year AV you have and what you might want to change, upgrade, or Mod (modify).  We can definately point you in the right direction.  If we don't have first hand knowledge we will point you to the right section of this forum where you will get plenty of information and ideas.

Again,  Welcome!

Tiffinee

Welcome! Tiffanee.    Thanks for checking in with the Nevada crowd.  As Aussie said, let us know what part of the state you are in, what year and model Avalanche you have, what days or evenings of the week would be best to hang out with the crowd.   Thumbs up!  I promise most of us are not psycho axe murderers....well, OK, not axe murderers.....I think.    Cool!

We have a pool party coming up next month and some other stuff after that.

Again,  Welcome!

 Welcome! rsantos.

Look around the forum and any questions you have about buying or owning an Avalanche will be answered in one place or another.

As for members around Elko, I am not aware of any active members, but there are a few in the Salt Lake area and the Reno Area.  I know it is a drvie, but when they have Get ToGethers it may be worth the trip.

Thanks BigDog.  Aussie, you guys are gonna have a late drive man...  And unless you guys are goin like 100 mph, I would count on being in Reno between 2 or 3...  Its right about 296 miles from here to there.  Not tryin to rain on your parade, just givin ya a heads up.  And it doesn't look like I'll be able to join you guys down there.  I've got 2 trips back to back already the weeks after that.  Goin down to Yosemeti for about a week and then goin down to Vegas to watch UFC 100 the weekend after that.  I just dont think it's going to be in the budget for me this time...  Anyways, its way past my bed time.  Talk to ya'll laterz.

Hello, and  Welcome!

What part of Nevada are you in?  We may have something going in October in the Las Vegas area, but nothing is set and ideas are still being tossed about.  Also, if you can post up what year and model AV you have and any upgrades or mods you added.

 Welcome! Brian

Stick around and enjoy the forum.  There are always things to do and places to go, it is just that some places are further than others.  Big laughter with tears  Looking forward to meeting you someday.
