Avalanche Fox no longer works for a GM dealer so she probably won't be able to help us out any longer. Anyone owning a FORD should be able to get the information from her now........
Dang, we probably got the poor girl fired because we kept bugging her but the dealer profits didn't go up proportionately.
While we are on the subject, I bought an 07 Mustang GT convertible back in June, did I get a good deal...

Hey Holly,
Hope you enjoy your new Job, Congratulations, because I am sure it was a promotion for you. Someone as willing to do what you have been doing here to help people get a good deal has to be worth a fortune for a dealer. Customers should be flocking to the door to work with you. The dealer is lucky to have you.
On the Ford subject, where is the dealer you are located at? I attached a Mustang site you may like as well. Of course, I am fear1 there too.

i'm w/ the lucas family in Columbia, TN... not a huge place but i luv the family environment. last night at @ 6:40 they said "well, nuttin goin on, why don't we shut the place down for the night."
that has NEVER happened in the car business for me before. i've been able to enjoy dinner at night with the family EVERY NIGHT since i started working here. I've also been able to help get my 2 boys off to school every morning. when u've got little ones... that is absolutely PRICELESS!

I can relate to the young ones, my baby is 21 years old now. How the time flies.
So, Is the Lucas family ready to give away the 07 Escalade EXT they have on the lot yet? If so, and I can talk the boss into it, I may be able to help.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I wanted to check with the bank before wasting any of your time. I just don't see any possible way of trading the AV without being upside down. I would need about $30K for the trade before this could come a reality.
I will keep you in mind when I think we could make this happen.

Ok so what is the line that says MEMO: Total less holdback and approx wholesale finance credit?
The one I am looking at has the following numbers.
MSRP 44425
Invoice 40314.83
"Memo" - 2026.25
Total Memo less holdback and approx wholesale finance credit - 38504.80
Is the dealer making the difference between the 38504.80 and the invoice 40314.83?
Edmunds said that chevy has 3% msrp built in so the 2026.25 would be too much?
40314.83 *.03 = 1332.75 would be edmunds estimated holdback...
the deal being offered is $40000 - 500 extra rebate - 8000 in GM/GM card rebates?
So basically he is giving me 314.83 under invoice..plus an extra rebate that maybe i really dont qualify for..if this gets rejected at later date I will tell him to stick it as it appears even with the 314 under invoice he is making a min $1000 bucks....maybe more depending on which holdback is correct, the 3% or what is listed on the invoice?

Send me the Vin, Dealer Name and zip code and I'll try to look up the Employee cost and Supplier cost. As a rule of thumb, any Av around 45000 will give a supplier price of 41000. This equates to about 200 to 400 below invoice. The employee price will be about 1100 below the 41000. so anywhere from 4500 to 6000 from the MSRP price will be between the supplier and employee prices. Sometimes a portion of the holdback can be negotiated to be included in the deal but the dealer has to make money also remember.

The numbers I gave are the invoice the dealer gave me? Are there differences? The supplier price on the invoice was 40458.82 which is $150 or so OVER invoice...so i guess my question is, what is reasonable profit for the dealer on this unit? It was a unit that has been sitting for over a year although only for 65 days or so on my dealers lot (he bought it from a bankrupt dealer)....as best I can tell he made about $1000 on my deal....was that too much considering the times we are going through?
