Todd will we know for sure how many kids??  I bet we can pool people so that each of them has a GREAT TIME..  If each region took say 10 to 15 kids and divided them up within their region to the particating states..
What do you think??

The age and gender of the children changes all the time. I could find out the boy to girl ratio and ages today and it could change in the next couple weeks. Given that, we are not buying for specific children. Darla Crown, the Director of the CHS will help us distribute the gifts.

I personally will buy several small to mid size gifts that could go to several children.

Hope this helps,
Todd

Todd, is there anyway we can get some CAFNA T-shirts made for the kids to donate along with our gifts?
I am planning on bringing a box of gifts up to distribute amongst all the kids. I am going to take my 2 boys to Wal-Mart and let them pick out $50-$100 worth of toys for the charity drive. We are thinking Games, Puzzles and things that can be shared with the group. That way I do not have to worrry about not having enough gifts to go around.

Todd,

That's a great thing you are doing for the kids. Glad to be part if it, even in a distance.

When do you need those gifts? If it is at Rapid City, I'll ask Hugz or Jstbad to bring them over. I'll see them for sure before then and would be a lot cheaper then spending the money on Shipping.

I got 4 Lego sets for boy 6+. I will also get 4 girl gifts before I send everything.

Hugz suggested that we wrap them and put tags with gender and age. Is that correct?

I am in the process of having a "Wish List Registry" set up with a major department store nation wide. Give me a few days and I should have this worked out.

This works exactly like a wedding registry does. All of the items and quantities are listed. The list tells you the prices, what isle to find it in and the quantity still remaining on the list. After you purchase something from the list, the quantity for that item is updated at all their stores.

I found out today the gifts will be able to be purchased at any Target store and picked up in Rapid City or you can bring them with you.

We are working on a custom wish list. The list will include specific items as well as items to support The Children's Home Society facility. Each of the children are going to the Rapid City Target to help the staff scan items and create a custom list. All of the details should be available next week.
