Sounds like a really good reason to attend something I have always wanted to see.

We will have to keep this in mind!

yeah, it's like a NASCAR road race except the cars are built to handle corners

maybe we can make it Michigan's largest GTG, we only need to beat a dozen

We need a location to meet, thread should be in the midwest regional and toss an invite to Ohio/Indiana/Illinois/Ontario sections. I was hoping we could do Cabella's GTG in spring, I plan to make Rapid City, SD in July

we don't have any local groups close enough to meet regular so far

I added a poll to the topic to see what everyone would like to do.
Things I think, the island will probably be closed to normal traffic and parking will probably not be allow so you will have to go by Bus or shuttle I can take care of that.

There may be camping on the island but I doubt it.

See the first post for ticket prices

I will update is I find out more I know folks on the committee that is setting it up so as soon as I find out I will post.

As it gets closer I'll keep an eye out for discount tickets. My credit union or UAW/GM often offer discounts to local events.

Nice to see they're bringing it back. I could make that GTG.

I hope they fix Belle Isle up a little before the event there. Last time I was there, the place looked awful since the Island is really peppered with dilapidated ruins of the past. The city of Detroit has pretty much let the place go. That area near Bele Isle is so rough that I seen houses with the aluminum siding stolen off them.
