Great pics Sir!!! I have more to post, but know you and I took some of the same, so I figure I'd let you do some of the work for both of us!!

Although you were the "smart" one and climbed all those stairs to get the birds eye view of the Phoneix Center lot!!! SWEET!! Mrs. Shopolot and I discussed those stairs and immediately decided it would suck to have to walk up all them and quickly headed the other direction  Big laughter with tears

So looking forward to next year!! And I agree, the spot we were at was by far the best on the whole strip!

Wow! Geat pics everyone!

I was out on Woodward Friday night till about midnight and all day Saturday but never made it up as far north as Pontiac, now I wish I had.  I also wish that I had remembered to grab my camera either day, it seemed like I remembered that I forgot it both days right as I turned onto Woodward.  banghead

Friday eve I was cruising in the Ave while my old man cruised in our 1991 454SS (pickup) but our loop only went as far north as Square Lake, and mainly stayed in the 10-15 Mile area.

Saturday we ended up parking the Ave right off Woodward just North of 13 Mile, right next to the Funeral home where the Scion club were having their gathering, so we were forced to listen to "bump-chick-bump-chick-bump-chick" of techno music all day long!  Our only salvation came when the ice cream truck was directly in front of us and the his music drowned out the techno...... The good part of our spot Saturday was that the Prowler club was on the other side of Woodward and had at least 75 Prowlers all parked along the street.  At about 3:00 they all took off for a cruise and the line of Prowlers had to be 1/2 a mile long! THAT was something to see.

It's also good to see that burn outs were happening SOMEWHERE this year.  From what I've heard there were a few cities COUGHRoyalOakCOUGH that had a zero tollerance policy and any even minor squack of the tires resulted in a barrage of cops on bicycles surrounding the car and issuing a ticket.  My old man learned this first hand when got a $250 wreckless driving ticket for pulling a burnout Friday evening in front of Doogan's.  The cop even threatened to arrest him and impound our truck after my dad said "You've got to be kidding me!?!" when the cop gave him the ticket, all the while the crowd inside Doogans was boo-ing and yelling for the cops to leave my pops alone.

I'll definitly have to check this site next year before heading to the Cruise.  The 10-15 mile area is nice since it's basically the center of everything going on, but Pontiac looked to be a lot nicer in terms of watching the cars roll by.

Thanks all for sharing your day at the cruise with your pics and comments.  We lived in Clarkston, MI from 1994 to 1999 and never made it down there.  This thread has made me wonder why, it looks like a great time was had by all.

I lived right off Woodward in Royal Oak '87 to Dec '92, it started right after I got called back to GM in Flint and never seem to make it down there for the cruise. I work until 3AM so don't much feel like going to a traffic jam at noon.
