I just passed 225000 km and on the way home the other day I realized the AV was pulling to the right.  I got home to see that smoke was bilowing out of my wheel well, so i quickly doused the flames with the garden hose.  I then nursed the AV to the brake shop.. the caliper had seized onto the disk--not bad for 225000 km on stock brakes Cheesy

2007 ltz with 40,000 and the rotors have that "warped" feeling.. and getting worse. probably better to just replace than re-surface

If you feel a pulsating feeling when gently stopping or a lot a vibration when making a hard stop but not yet engaging the anti-lock system, then it is a warped rotor.  Generally, turning the rotors cures than problem.  I have almost 47K on my '07 and a just feeling a tinge of pulsation.....just a tinge.

Still have my original brake pads at fiftyseven thousand miles on my 02 purchased July 01 new, had to replace front rotors as well as pads as the back of the rotors had a half inch of rust on the outer edge.
Tech said that he has seen this on several other gm trucks, i replaced the front pads with NAPA Ceramic pads and  i used the NAPA premium drilled and slotted rotors and can see a difference in the braking, i interned to replace the rear rotors with the matching ones and will replace the park brake Assam. at the same time

my 07 LTZ  with 62,000 has a pulsating pedal only when the brakes are HOT from use, but fine when COLD. All highway miles & about 1/2 life life or more still on the pads.

I take a little different view. I tow a 25ft tag along in the summer and V nose closed in trailer for sleds in the winter, I require brake performance, so use drilled rotors and ceramic pads front and back. At the prices I get at Gforcebrakes.com I know I have to replace them every 2 years (40,000 miles) based on winter driving and road surface salt.

Never have to worry about brake fad or performance when having to brake hard!
