buy back, or you sold it?

Would have liked a buy back, but they considered my problems average for the vehicle.

Would have never sold it privately.

Would have traded it in (at my chevy dealer) but they low balled the AV big time,  25k (max) for an LT2 with 20s with only 19k-Not my dealer any more

Traded in for an 08 F-150 FX4 and they gave me the best trade 29k!

Took my 07 LT2 in today for a number of issues. The most annoying issues happen when I try to start the truck.

(1) When you are attempting to start the truck and you release the key, the engine will start but the starter stays engaged.  The only way to disengage the starter is to turn the key back to the off position.  At first I thought the key cylinder itself was actually sticking in the start position and not returning to the run position after releasing the key.  This however, is not the case.

(2) When you are attempting to start the truck it takes several seconds for the truck to start.  This reminds me of my old carbureted 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super when it has been sitting for a few weeks without starting it.

Of course both issues are intermittent and the dealer can not duplicate.  The dealer is going to replace the fuel pump and the injectors.  They did not have the injectors in stock so I have to take it back next week sometime.

The other issues were rattling glove box door, sticky ac vent dial in the center vent, pop under the drivers floor board and really crappy gas mileage.  (~10.3 on E85, ~13.8 on Gas)

There are some threads about this problem in this forum somewhere. GM made it so the starter keeps cranking until the computer thinks the engine is running. If a sensor is not reading that the engine is running, it just keeps cranking. Like I was saying, someone else went through this a while back - do a search and you will find the answer.

Check out the thread that SNI+PER created.  He describes the same problem.  Dealer changed his injectors....wasn't the problem.  Personally, I believe this issue and others described elsewhere as a starter switch issue.

Well until yesterday mine hadn't been to the shop...But now its for something major...the Tranmission went out or is going out.  That really sucks.  I LOVED my Avalanche up until now.  Now I'm scared they won't fix it right and I will be stuck with a lemon.  We will see.  The dealer did come and tow it and they are offering me a rental car.
Other than this a few rattles here and there but nothing really worth taking in for.

How did you swing that one?  I think mine are doing this too!  Wonder if I can have mine replaced under warranty when I take it in for the front bumper clearcoat issue.

I don't think you get your wheels replaced.  At least, you're not supposed to.  The dealership is supposed to send them off and they resurface them.  About a two week process, I'm told.  If I'm wrong let me know...

Other than the factory recalls

-driver seat heater
-back side of passenger seat clips broken
-steering wheel coating peeled off
-gm headrest dvd has engine hum when listening over the external speakers (still not fixed)
-rear window out of align (leaking)
-front driver sensor
-passenger seat lever knob (to move seat)
-shakes bad over 155 mph   (just kidding)

I bought it used w/29k on it. Not sure what was done before I bought it. Motor and tranny good so far. Think I gunna hold my breath on that though. (Still love this truck anyway).

Avalanche is in the shop again this time no 36,000 warranty... but I did purchase the gmpp major guard and hopefully it covers a bad steering gear... that is the diagnosis Sad

Note: GMPP covered steering gear replacement otherwise it would have been a grand to fix out of pocket..

RockyII going in for shocks on all four corners.  No warranty on this repair at 71K miles.  The LTZ has the electronic monitoring up front and air in the rear.  This visit is going to be expensive.....but, my company pays the tab!

Anyone notice how much more expensive GM repairs are since the Bankruptsy?  Government Motors repair costs should be an indication of how expensive a national healthcare program will be.

08 LTZ. 11,600 miles. Finally front rotors replaced after being resurfaced twice. Then one day all of my electronic were going crazy. Lights flashing, windows opening and closing, dash lighting up like a xmas tree. It had to be towed to dealer. Drum roll, the culprit was a loose battery cable.  :E:Dealer blamed factory because their a TBS for it Roll Eyes
