Just an update on the Pioneer GPS they have a new disc the CNDV-21 this will allow the touch screen enhancments of the AVH P6500. This will work on the 6400CD models. It will not offer any additions on the street database. I do not have a cost on the disc yet or availability. Should know next week.

Cool! So does that mean what I think it means? We will have touchscreen capability with the 6400CD at least with the navigation system?

The way I read it on the Pioneer Website, was that the CD could only access the touch screen feature with the new HU 6500 CD. The disc CNDV 21 will work with the 6400 CD but that map was not updated, so if you have the CNDV 20 (green disc) now then you will not gain anything with the purchase of the CNDV 21, unless you buy a new HU also. I wonder if you need a new Navigation DVD drive also to get the touchscreen? I'm still happy with the Nav Sys 900 and can't wait to install my new cut down gear shift handle. Should have it installed next Friday. If a had some tools in my truck I would install it at the Airport. Four weeks in Africa and the only bright point was somebody showing mere her middrift on a different web sight. It's going to be great having the Screen pop out on Auto open. It will be one less step when I utilize the reverse camera. Just a quick question to the people who have a reverse Camera with the 6400 CD HU. I have to wait about 15 to 20 seconds once I've started the truck before putting it in reverse or my Screen doesn't clear. The HU has to run through it's menu screen and if you already have the truck in Reverse then the screen never clears for the Reverse Camera View. Has anyone found a cure for this delay. It seems trivial but it can get annoying having to wait.

Here is the info I got from Pioneer on the CD
In the coming weeks our new navigation products will be arriving in retail stores. I wanted to give you a quick overview of the new enhancements. The biggest upgrade on the new models is touch screen capability. Now you have more choice, you can use your fingers and/or voice to find your way around town.
Touch Panel Screen
Simply touch large bright icons to find your way through navigation menus, plot routes, or change map views. An easy to read status indicator provides current location information, turn distance and approximated time to destination. So throw away the maps and use your fingers to find your way home.
Enhanced Voice Command
The voice commands in this year’s model are more advanced in terms of recognizing more commands. In addition when your navigation system is combined with AVH-P6500DVD <
http://pioneer-usa.rsc03.net/servlet/cc5?igjQSDSVniMHotLjxLHjlotpgsQgLlVaVS>,
AVH-P7500DVD or NAV-SYS910DVD <
http://pioneer-usa.rsc03.net/servlet/cc5?igjQSDSVniMHotLjxLHjlotpgsQgLlVaVT>
you can change media sources, radio stations, even adjust EQ levels by simply using your voice.
Lower Retail Price
The AVIC-80DVD <
http://pioneer-usa.rsc03.net/servlet/cc5?igjQSDSVniMHotLjxLHjlotpgsQgLlVaVU>
is more affordable then past models with a suggest retail price is of $1900.
Upgrade Your Pioneer DVD Navigation System
If you own an AVIC-9DVD or AVIC-90DVD you simply need to purchase the CNDV-21 Disc to get all the touch screen enhancements of the 2003 model. Note that the database of streets itself is still the same as the CNDV-20 or AVIC-90DVD disc.
New Models and Systems
The new 2003 model, AVIC-80DVD <
http://pioneer-usa.rsc03.net/servlet/cc5?igjQSDSVniMHotLjxLHjlotpgsQgLlVaVU>
replaces last years AVIC-90DVD. In addition we have a new 6.5" detachable touch panel display, the AVD-W6210. <

We offer two new navigation systems:

Ok if I read this right then what it is saying is if you buy the 6500 cd HU then you get the touch screen feature with the AVIC 90 DVD. What I find confusing is their claim that with the New Voice recognition technology you will be able to change radio stations and Media sources. I can all ready do that with the AVIC 90. "preset one, preset two, excetera. And I'm fairly certain I can change from CD to Stereo to Nav with the source change voice commands. I could be wrong about the source changes (senior moments come more frequently after 40). I've never tried voice commands on the graphic Equilizer so I can't say for sure on that.
