first of all, sorry if this isn't the place to post this question, but couldn't find a better place to do so.
anyways, i have a 02 and as you all know the sytem is weak at best. i did a little research and came up with this. as i don't know much about this stuff anymore, i was hoping to get some feedback:

pioneer DEH-P7400MP deck
Rockford Fosgate punch 500x amp
Rockford Fosgate punch hpc2206 6.5" (for rear)
Rockford Fosgate punch  fnx2614 6.5" componets (for front)
roughly $695 w/o shipping and cables from e-tronics

no sub, don't think i'll need one ( not into the real HARD hitting bass anymore)
any help would be appreciated.
thanks

I've just changed over to Rockford Fosgate amps and LOVE 'em. I've also got a Pioneer 8400 deck, you should be happy with that setup.

Rockford stuff sounds great.  I use to have it in my old AV.  The only downside to Rockford Amps, is they do get very hot.  Alot  hotter than other amps I have owned.  Just a bit of negative light being shed on the subject.  Besides that, the setup your describing sounds wonderful!!!

RF amps are great, but I dont care for their speakers that much. They just don't impress me like other brands do.

thx for the replys. what speakers do you recommend dude? and what amp wiki. i know that stereo stuff is a very personal preference type thing, but i'm trying to get educated on it. i also posted this question in another thread: what is the deal with the RDS factory units? i don't have one, no onstar either, but i guess that it presents problems when trying to put in a new HU???
thx guys and have a good one

I'm running with an Eclipse 32430 4channel Amp.  It has more power than could be wanted.  I have it hooked up to the new Eclipse SC8362 component speakers.  The term that everybody keeps using is "bright" when they hear them.  I have not changed the head unit yet.  And I have not added a sub or amp for the sub.

The Eclipse products are as good as it gets...IMHO.  You can hear stuff from music that you've never heard before in the songs with these speakers.

My next step is the Eclipse CD8053 head unit.  I will then be getting some serious outside help to fit a sub and sub amp into the AV.  That seems to be the hardest part of the whole setup.  Good Luck.
